Check all hoses on vehicle especially around canister and make sure u have a factory gas cap
The canister purge solenoid is part of the evaporative emissions system. When it is commanded "open" by the PCM (computer), it allows fuel vapors in the fuel system to enter the engine. This solenoid basically acts as a valve regulating fuel vapor flow to the air intake system. By burning these vapors in the combustion process, the evaporation system helps to lower overall vehicle emissions. The solenoid circuit refers to the wiring used to control the function of this solenoid, and usually runs between the solenoid and the vehicles PCM.
any defect in the above mentioned canister working will cause your problem to happen

Code P0442 means Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected-(small leak). Most times that code is set if you removed the gas cap while the engine was running. If not, you could have a bad gas cap. It's minor in the grand scheme of things, but to be on the safe side, replace the gas cap, have the code cleared, and drive the car for a day or two. If the light stays off, problem solved.

2004 kia spectra check engine light is on and stalls when fill with gas

The information below was complied by me, it explains what causes the check engine light to come on and the process of finding the cause.
When the Check Engine light is turned on the computer control unit (called the PCM) has sensed a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system. When this happens you will seldom feel the car engine run any different. There are about 200 possible faults that turn the Check Engine light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen and Autozone parts stores do this testing for free.

Hi Po0011 is not a valid code but if you meant P0011 then it refers to an over advanced cam timing fault.

How to remove check engine light kia spectra 01

If you want the check engine light goes off one of the cables from the battery but not the best solution is to make a diagnosis with a scanner and you'll realize that you have registered code because if you turn out the light by disconnecting the battery and does not resolve the problem the light will turn on again ...... Thanks

I have a 2003 Kia Spectra and the check engine light came on this morning, I took it to VIP and they ran the machine that tells you the code, but they won't tell you what the code means, you have to figure...

A code P0442 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:
  • A loose or improperly affixed gas cap
  • A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand)
  • A small leak/hole in a fuel vapor hose/tube
  • Other small leak in EVAP system
  • Faulty vent o-ring seal
  • In other words, you PROBABLY have a vaccume leak. :-)

My check engine light came on in my 06 Kia spectra. Could it just be I need an oil change?

you can run it in to an auto zone and get a code check. they'll be able to tell you what the light means. the onboard computer stores the codes after a light is tripped.
It could be oil level, but could be something more involved. If no auto zone nearby, a local mechanic can scan the computer for you as well.
