My check engine light was on and the code was for the output speed sensor in my 2001 KIA Optima. I cannot get the clip off the sensor to replace it with the new one.

My 2001 Kia optima will not accelerate over 3000 rpm

I had that exact problem with my 2005 Kia optima.. It suddenly started one morning.. My Kia would not turn over.. I felt it was a power issue so I unattached my after market fog-lights that I have attached to my battery.. That got my ride to start, but upon driving it refused to go past 3000 rpms (in all gears)... I took apart my battery terminals and scrubbed them down with a tooth brush and coca-cola.. That was a perfect fix for my situation.. My Kia ran perfectly right after...
Good luck

2001 kia optima v6 with fault codes p0720, u3600, and p1529 what do they mean?

I just know P0720 and P1529, the P0720 means "Output Speed Sensor Circuit" and the P1529 mean SCAIR Sloenoid Circuit Malfunction.

The Maxivideo MV301 tool 8.5MM is a new release code scanner.

Input speed sensor

The input shaft speed sensor is located on the side of the transmission by where the engine "inputs" power to the transmission (via torque converter), thus rotating the input shaft.
The output speed sensor is located by where the axles attach to the transmission, and measures the speed that the transmission "outputs" to the axles (which make the wheels turn) and that data is also used for your speedometer reading.
