Question about 1998 Volvo S70

The Ever-Elusive Volvo Radio Code...

I had to get an oil leak fixed in my 1998 Volvo S70, during which they pulled out the transmission, thus resetting my radio. I have now called two dealers, as well as customer service, and tried about 4 different codes (which I got based on VIN number, as well as radio serial number), none of which worked. One Volvo employee said if the code didn't work, my radio was broken, and had to be fixed or replaced. Please help!

If the dealer performed the work I would be VERY persistant in them getting your radio fixed. Talk to the Service Director.

Check for vacuum leaks. I will bet that you have a bad or leaking vacuum hose between the intake manifold or PCV System and the Evap. System.

My 1998 volvo s70 overheated today. the oil was fine and so was the antifreeze. no leaks underneath either

If the anti freeze level is fine and there is no apparent leaks of any kind there is a good chance that your thermostat is stuck shut and needs to be replaced. The good news for you is that is a fairly cheap and fast fix. I hope this helps you out, and good luck.

My volvo s70 1998 , need radio code

Each radio is set to its own, so no one can tell you what yours was set to.
But any dealer of that brand of radio can reset it and tell you the new one.

My volvo s70 1998 transmission oil coolant was leaking and fixed. I flash the transmissio oil and changed the oil. After this process the car does not move in all gears either forward nor reverse.

Depending on how long it had been since servicing all of the old fluid might have been what was sealing it up and th neww fluid might be too clean to operate without some major work .

Chain smoker

Turbo oil seal is probably bad. This lets oil leak into the air intake from the turbo bearing. If smoke goes away during hard acceration, then this is probably your problem. Turbo replacement or rebuild is the fix for this.
