Auto parts store. Buy a Chilton's or haynes manuel they have illustrations of the carb and linkages. The linkages on the left when facing the engine from the front of the car are choke control. The linkage on the right side are your throttle and accelerator linkage. This sounds to me like a bad accelerator pump. Try opening the throttle buy hand very slowly when the engine is running and see if the RPM increases. And also while looking down into the carb with the ENGINE NOT RUNNING open the throttle and look for two streams of gas squirting into the center of the barrels/venturies. If you don't see two streams of gas squirting, your accelerator pump is shot and its time for a rebuild. Good luck!
