SOUND LIKE THE ELECTRIC LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP CHECK FUSE TO SEE IF PUMP GETTING POWER. IF NOT REPLACE FUSE AND CHECK THE WIRE TO PUMP.IF PUMP IS GETTING POWER..REPLACE FUEL FILTER FIRST.IF IT DONT HELP.COULD BE THE ELECTRIC LOW PRESSURE PUMP. FAULTY. IT PUMPS DIESEL FUEL IT INTO INJECTION PUMP TO BE PRESSURIZED TIMED AND INJECT.SEE IF LOW PRESSURE PUMP DONT WORK THE WHOLE ENGINE WONT RUN.THE INJECTION PUMP NEED FUEL FROM LOW PRESSURE ELECTRIC PUMP TO RUN ENGINE.

Wont do a cold start

if we are talking a diesel...glow plugs, relays, fuel filter or even fuel pump weak or pulling air from somewhere. If we are talking a gas engine, check fuel pressure/fuel filter.

2001 f350 diesel wont start without starting fld after wormed up

Starting fluid is a bad idea on glow plug engines. Some things to check are, the IDM, TPS, crank sensor, cam sensor, wires running through valve cover gasket, glow plug controller, ECM. Have the codes ran first. Could be one of the fuel pumps, but not common.

Have a F350 97' turbo diesel. had a diagnostic nothing comes up.just replaced cam position sensor, water pump, fuel filter an changed the oil. It will start and run for a bit and then it starts missing and...

Have your injector pump checked for fuel and air leaks. This is most likely what's causing the problem since there are no trouble codes. You may also want to check fuel pressures even though you changed your fuel filter. This may also be an issue regarding your turbo. If it isn't rotating properly, air induction will be slow and the motor will stall because it's starving for air. Note your exhaust fumes. If you do see black smoke more than likely it is starving for air. This is notorious in all diesel engines. Hope this helps, good luck!

2001 F350 7.3L Diesel won't start

I take it you have a crank no start issue, the fuel is injected by high pressure oil, no oil pressure no start, there are 2 oil pumps, low lube pressure and high injection control pressure (ICP) the injection system is hydraulic controls electric actuated fuel injection, if when you crank the engine over and the oil pressure guage goes up base pressure is ok, then its high pressure or the best thing I can say is pull codes and that can give me a good direction to send you in, there are many things that can cause that problem, if the fuel heater shorts out, the pcm and it are on the same 30amp circuit causin the same problem and still you would have proper fuel pressure readings.

Truck wont start

This is a common concern with this year model Ford diesel. There are several things to make the truck not start. There is a high-pressure oil sensor on the rear of the passenger side valve cover that if it fails won't let your engine start, there is a cam sensor on the front of the engine that if fails won't let your engine fire. Check all of your fuses and check the injector control module relay in the fuse panel under the hood. There are others that are best handled by ford, there is another high-pressure oil sensor down in the engine valley beneath the intake, the high-volume oil pump could of gone out, a high pressure oil line that if leaks won't let your truck start. the injector control module that if fails the replacement must be programmed to your trucks computer. Ford has a computer specifically designed to work on these trucks and they should beable to check your pump by looking at the oil pressures as it turns over. You can change the cam and the oil sensor on the valve cover yourself but they are expensive around $150.00 a piece and that may not fix it. I recommend taking it to the dealer and letting them looking at it. I know first hand that just throwing parts at it hoping to fix it can get expensive. Hope I was able to help you and answer your questions.

2001 F-250 7.3 DIESEL STALLED & QUIT & WILL NOT CRANK PLEASE HELP

That engine uses high pressure oil to open the injectors. Of course make sure your oil level is up then try turning it over while tapping on the IPC solenoid to see if you have a high pressure oil issue.

1989 ford f350 diesel wont start

If the truck has good batteries and cranks well.--- There is a schrader valve on top of the fuel filter housing, (it looks like a tire stem valve) depress this valve while someone cranks the engine until you have fuel flowing out of this air bleeder valve. From that point, crank until it starts. Do not crank more than 30 Seconds, then let the starter motor rest. After you have this air out it usually startes in one or two tries.

When was the fuel filter last replaced? What precedded this no start condition? Was it running fine?

Agin, this truck must crank quickly in order to start

good luck
