I have a 2004 Chevy Aveo. Bought it New. No problems till now. I drove it to work, went to go to lunch, it started but then sounded like it was not getting gas, then died and won;t start at all. It turns over fine. It requires no Ignition Module. Could this be the Fuel Pump?

yes.check fluid also.container under hood.break fluid will work

if it is a stick then try shutting the car off, put it in reverse and then start it. if it works then the clutch is worn and should be replaced.

it sound to me like the lighter plug itself is loose and when you released the parking brake wiggled the plug enough to short out and blow the fuse . check to see if the plug is loose .

I had the same thing happen with my 2004 Chevy Aveo, but I drove it appx 3 hours with my hose broken and, evidently, cold air and dampness allowed ice to build up and they tell me thats what made my throttle plate stick 3/4 open! Dont know it you may have done something to the engine or not, but this definately can be quite dangerous!

there is not a seperate TPS for this car, however it has 2 tps's located in the throttle body. you will have to get a new throttle body.i bought mine for about 150 at the dealer. dont go used. and the parts stores won't have them. It is fairly easy to replace. The Throttle body is located in the upper left hand sideof your engine at the very top... I had exactly the same problem, my GM mechanic friend hooked it up to his special maching and we drove around waiting for the problem to start. CHECK DRL FUSE MAKE SURE ITS IN PLACE TIGHT.IF FUSE GOOD RELAY COULD BE GOING BAD.

I had to replace battery cable--radio now does not work without "code" --anti theft code supposedly either put in by factory or previous owner (i bought it used at car dealer), local chev dealer could not find code and was no help. am i the only one that has this problem?? other than buying new radio what can i do? thanks![/QUOTE]

Daughters 2004 Aveo stopped dead on freeway. Plastic thermostat on engine and melted off. Chevy said it blew the engine, searched on line and found 17 pages of same complaint. Chevy repaired car for free. Still not worth the worry. But if this is your problem, fight it don't pay for repairs!
