If we are talking about brake light in dash, check parking brake by putting park brake on and then off if there is no change check park brake switch located on park brake to see if it is still connected and or dirty they come off sometimes
I don't know about the 2007's but earlier models have a parking light switch located on the top of the steering column. See if there is a switch there that got moved when cleaning.
do you have a trailer hitch with a wiring convertor box when these malfunction you have some crazy problems,if not you may have a broken solder joint on the steering column switch i have seen this before
I had the same problem with my Outback but the solution is very simple, turn off the parking light switch located on the top of the steering column. See chapter 3 page 23 in your owners manual. This has to be the dumbest and most frustrating feature EVER!
This happened with my car too. I have a 2005 Legacy. There is a parking light on the steering column. Just turn off the light and you should be in good shape.
