Question about 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee

UConnect stopped working

2005 Jeep Cherokee UConnect - factory installed in the rear view mirror. Suddenly just stopped working. The light is still on for the dimmer on the rear view mirror. But there is no light at all on the rear view mirror for UConnect anymore. Is there a fuse for this? Where is it and what fuse is it?

There is most likely a fuse, i don't have a Cherokee manual handy for that model year but i know on the Liberty of the same year there is a fuse for the UConnect in the interior fuse box. If you have your manual in the glove box check the glossary for fuses and there is a diagram showing what each fuse is with a number and an explanation of what each fuse runs in a chart. If the fuse is ok it might just need to be reset, pulling the battery negative cable and waiting 10-15 mins and then reconnect will usually clear up any issues and reboot everything, just be aware that if you have antitheft lock on the stereo that you disable that before pulling the battery cable otherwise the radio will be locked after reconnecting the battery cable. You can also try just pulling the fuse that supplies power to the Uconnect and leave that out for a bit.

However, i kinda doubt its a fuse, because usually the Uconnect and stereo are on the same fuse, so if everything else is working that might not be it but its worth checking before taking it to a dealership.

SOURCE: UConnect dead - everything else OK...

UConnect is mainly all software. There is most likely a software update that will only be available through a dodge, chrysler, or jeep dealership. If the new flash doesn't fix the problem, the Uconnect module would need to be replaced

9 time out of 10 it is the phone not the Uconnect. Try to pair a different phone on the device then see what happens.

Power windows stopped working and dome lights stay on. Power locks work only with the "clicker" but not on driver door

Look under the hood fuse no. 12 should be for power windows. Or maybe something like a bad ground wire in drivers door harness.

Chrysler town country radio sales code

Call your local Chrysler dealership ask for parts they can tell you, advance warning you will need your VIN number then you can probably get a used one from automotive recycling, some aftermarket radioes can be hooked up and work like the factory system but they require another part, id recommend going to like Best Buy and talk with their installers, a factory radio is very expensive if you buy from the dealership, food for thought.

How do you hard reset the uconnect?

My Uconnect is factory installed on my 2005 Dodge Truck. There are two control buttons on the rearview mirror for the uconnect. For a long time my uconnect would not fully function with my bluetooth phone and then lately it quite working most of the time. I did a bunch of research adn found this procedure to do a hard reset. After doing this the uconnect came back fully and all functions are working. I now this sounds stupid and you feel stupid doing it, but it did work for my vehicle.
1- Turn on ignition w/doors closed
2- Press both buttons on mirror for 15-20 seconds
3- Shut off ignition
4- Open door for 5-10 seconds
5- Close door and restart car, Uconnect is now reset
