I replaced the throttle body sensor and the gas pedal sensor, but there is no improvement. After a little research I tried to run the various tricks for the pedal to relearn/reset the idle, but that didn't help any. I put in a new mass air flow sensor (MAF) to see if that made a difference, it did not. I disconnected the battery for 15 min with the two terminals touching to clear the ECM, which did not work. Then, I started to spray throttle body cleaner into the throttle body and it finally went up to 3000 rpms, temporarily. When I shut the car off and restarted the car it was stuck at 2000 rpms yet again! It seems as if the car is stuck in limp mode. I tried to clear the code, but the computer will not clear the code no matter what I do, I even tried to clear it with two different scanners. I don't see any recalls for this car or problem nor can my colleagues and I solve it! Has anyone else ran into such an issue and successfully fixed it? Please tell me how - I am open to any and all (reasonable) suggestions at this point!
P0121 is normally a bad throttle position sensor - since you've already replaced it, check for damage in the wiring harness.
If you have a scan tool that can read the values, check to see what you get at the idle and WOT positions.
Testimonial: "Will do thank you! I'm going in tomorrow so this customer can get her car back we've had it for almost a week and have tried everything this one has us stumped, but I will let you know what we find!"

If wiggling the wires cured the code, then one of the wires is broken inside the insulation. Pull on each wire one at a time. look for the colored insulation to stretch, this will be the broken wire. For the other car that wont rev up, this is a common when the catalytic concverter is plugged up. This will also cause MAF codes, and in turn, TRAC OFF light.

Sounds like the idle speed control motor is stuck, this could have been caused by the cleaning.

I discovered that its the throttle body sensor. Its not sensing the postion of the foot pedal. The throttle body has a sensor that is linked to your gas pedal via a cable. The spring that the repair man mentioned could be the issue. The sensor then communicates to the computer the position and then computer then applies fuel, the mass air sensor then will communicate to the computer and the computer will then allow more or less air to fuel ratio. So if your stomping on the gas and there is not any response, then your throttle body sensor is most likely going out.

Most faultcodes don't disappear automaticly, the have to be 'reset' manually after repairing. It sounds like the code didn't get erased after replacing the MAF. You could try to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes (disconnect and reconnect the negative (-) pole), which should erase the code.
Whenever the engine light still comes back on after that, there probably still is some (other) problem ...

THERE IS A TP SENSOR BUILT INTO THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR. THESE TRUCKS HAVE BEEN KNOWN FOR A FEW PROBLEMS IN THIS AREA. THROTTLE ACTUATOR IS NOT SERVICEABLE. THE THROTTLE BODY WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED IF IT IS PROVEN FAULTY. THE APP SENSORS ARE LOCATED IN THE GAS PEDAL MODULE. THESE SEND SIGNAL TO COMPUTER TO TELL IT WHERE YOUR FOOT IS, THEN COMPUTER SENDS COMMAND TO THROTTLE ACTUATOR TO OPEN OR CLOSE THROTTLE BASED ON THIS INPUT. THE SENSOR IN THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR DELIVERS A MESSAGE BACK TO THE COMPUTER TO TELL IT WHAT THE ACTUAL THROTTLE POSITION IS. IF THESE SIGNALS DONT MATCH(WHERE THROTTLE IS COMMANDED AND WHERE IT ACTUALLY IS)THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE AND THE VEHICLE COULD GO INTO A REDUCED POWER MODE. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU!
