Automatic Transmission question.

Is the Automatic transmission self contained: 2002 Lexus ES 300? I could not find a dip stick to check fluid level.
Also, the cig lighter has quit working. Where is the fuse box located? Is under the dash or under the battery?
Respectfully,
Thanks
Spud Curtis

If there is no dipstick then most likely their is a level screw. Will look simular to the drain screw. Unscrew and if fluid comes out their is enough fluid in the transwmition. If not fill fluid into the level screw hole until it starts to run out.

Where do you check the transmission level on a 1995 Polaris 425 Magnum. How do you add fluid?

on any vehicle with an automatic transmission, there are two dip sticks. One to measure oil level, and the other transmission fluid level( typically labled 'check with engine running in park'). To add transmission fluid requires a funnel to introduce fluid via the dip-stick tube.

If you have a manual transmission, then you don't need transmission fluid, you need gear oil, which can be measured at the transmission and added at the same port.

How to refill oil in transmission for Dodge caravan 1995 (automatic transmission)?

You refill the transmission through the dip stick tube. Make sure you don't over fill the transmission though, that's just as bad as having low transmission fluid levels.

How do I put in transmission fluid in a volkswagon 2002 passat?

This car has no dip stick. The car must be lifted on a level surface. Make sure you get the correct fluid. The temperature of the fluid should be at 99 degrees F, a drive around the block should do, or an infrared thermometer can be used to check the temp through the check window, after removing the rubber plug. The fluid should be topped off at this temp by injecting it through a vaccum pump. A small hand pump is fine. Too much and it will spill out. If filled when cold, it will expand and cause damage to gaskets. Replace plug, and ready to go.
Good Luck.

ATF for 1994 Lexus GS 300

I know from experience that you should only use manufacturer recommended fluids in your transmission, Especially toyota, they are very peculiar about the fluids you use in them. Although the fluid you put in it may not cause any harm, it is always best to use the fluids recommended.

How do i check or add transmission fluid

first make sure the car is up to operating temp. with car running and on level surface, pull out the stick on driver side of engine that says transmission fluid. wipe it off and reinsert the stick. the bottm of the stick has markings on it to tell you if the fluid level is ok or low. tranny fluid is added thru the tube for the stick. you will need a funnel to add fluid.

How can i put transmission fluid into my car,how much do i put in

Check the Level of the transmission fluid by pulling the Transmission dip stick. The colour of the dip stick is most likely red in colour and you need to check it with the car's engine running and hot. Pull the dip stick out clean it off and check it again. always check the second reading.
To fill the transmission, you need to fill it through the Transmission dip stick tube. Yes your going to need a thin funnel and good luck. Do not over fill the transmission. over filling will cause damage to the transmission.
Best thing is, if you have not done a transmission oil and filter change. Have it done at a Transmission shop and you'll know that the transmission level is fine and have them show you have to check and fill the Transmission. As time goes by and mileage get's high, the fluid will get contaminated and the filter plugged up which would in turn cause a transmission failure.
Good luck and hope this helps. Oh and the type of transmission fluid should be in your manuel or stamped on the dip stick.
