Cannot find where the transmission fluid would go

My car has been doing a slight jerking motion from time to time when I accelerate more than 30mph. My friend told me to check the transmission and my dad told me to check to transmission fluid because I have never replaced it myself since I had the car, which has been a year and 5 months. I have a 1998 Chevy Prizm and I can't for the life of me find where the transmission fluid goes.

Is the car auto or manual??
if auto you pour fluid down the tube you check your fluid at. make sure when you check the trans fluid the car is running or you will get the wrong reading.

if car is manual then you have to get a rachet and remove the plug on side of trans and pour the right gear oil into it (note not trans fluid GEAR OIL)

Check your transmission fluid. Usually if your rig starts shifting hard ( big Jerking motion) it's a sign that your transmission is terminal and the ring is going between the gears

2001 Honda Civic won't accelerate past 25mph

Check the:
- Fuel pump pressure and regulating valve.
- Check the ignition system.
- Air leaks. (Throttle body gasket, idle air control valve shucked open, PCV valve open, vacuum hoses, gasket intake manifold, A/C VSV).
- Muffler.

Check the transmission fluid.make sure the car is at operating temperature and in park.go to parts store and buy transmission filter kit. automatic transmission works on fluid pressure if it is restricted the tramsmission won't shift right.the fluid and filter are to b changed usually between 40 to 50k miles

my first thought here is a UJ or constant velocity joint faulty or the splined shaft on the end has the clip missing allowing it to come out ,i can only suggest you ask a local mechanic to have a look for you .sorry i cannot give a more specific answer ,i would need to see the vehicle for this

I can drove down the road but if i get over 30mph the car jerks and when i put the car in reverse and when you put it into drive also it jerks like the transmissions trying to go out or does the oxygen...

My wife has a 2001 Durango, while accelerating up a slight incline, the transmission or something jerks or clunks a couple of times (kind of like an engine miss) then it does OK and may not do it again...

Add up to three bottles Lucas no slip.Remove the difference. You have to live or rebuild the transmission.Any codes?Drive easy you may extend the life of the transmission.

Transmission Slight Jerking When Slowing & Accelerating

Have you changed the trasmission fluid and filter in your jeep lately, if not do so and that just might stop the jerking in your jeep, and if that does not do the trick you will need to have your trasmission checked out by a trasmission shop.

Honda crv transmission?

if your trans fluid is full it may be an internal problem in the gearbox even in the converter its hard to diagnose without seeing the car but i can sure try to help if you can add any other noises or symptoms i will see if i can help you pinpoint the problem
