Battery died in our 2014 Nissan rogue and now the rear hatch no longer works. I took it to the dealer and they said it needs a new assembly, which will cost $914 dollars. Seems excessive to me, is there a simpler fix or is this something I could perhaps do my self and avoid all the labor costs? DC

you can purchase this at any auto parts store for around $40. its a small black box located high and slightly to the driver side firewall. takes about 20 min.to replace(easy). I would sujest purchasing the part first,remove from package,and get familiar with the part as to how it appears to bolt on,also compare it with the one thats on the vehicle now.It will also have a wire harness that plugs into it.

HI, the cost of the ignition switch is $27.99. the labor cost is usually figure by the hour and it is set a 50 dollar an hour increment. In my shop, we have a set minimum labor charge of two hour as most shops in my area. Total estimated cost including the labor and parts should be around $127.99 give or take.

It sounds like the handle has become disconnected from the mechanism. You will have to remove the inner door panel and reattch. It is not a complicated or difficult job but if you get a professional it could cost upwards of $100.
