Replaced Starter and fuel pump and found blown fuse for starter. Replaced fuse and it will crank but does not get any fuel and will not start. The key fob was lost long ago so cannot use it to deactivate anti theft system. I am helping a elderly disabled man who is on a fixed income. His daughters boyfriend fried the starter by continuiously cranking it, then left the old fellow stranded. I am wrenching and trying to get him mobile free of charge. Any help would be greatly appreciated on how to deactivate anti theft system. I think that is why the fuel pump is not running. I have checked fuses and relays and everything checks out as far as i can tell. Thanks
It will never start until the codes are canceled in its computer brain. Takes expensive specialty tools. A dealer can do it but you have to get it to them. A less expensive way is to call and ask a mobile mechanic if can do it. Not all of them can. Replacement keys fob are not expensive online but they also need reprogramming also.
SOURCE: shuts off while driving. no fuel pressure. pcm fuse blows/ fuel pump relay inserted.
Sounds like the fuel pump is shorted.

Does anti-theft light come on for a sec then turn off when you turn on the key or does it flash with key on?
You said that CEL turns off while cranking, does it come back on if you continue to crank after about 8-10 seconds of cranking?
If it does not then your PCM is not seeing a signal from the crankshaft postion sensor. You can try wiggling the harness at the crankshaft postion sensor and see if it will start.

my 97 continial was turning over but would not start so my friend replaced the crank position sensor and she started right up
SOURCE: 99 chevy cavalier theft system light on steady, car wont crank.
My 2000 cavalier has done this for 6 months. You take your key out then open your door, wait ten minutes and the system resets itself and the car will start-annoying you bet!!!

p0560 is system voltage problem. open or short between the battery positive and the ecm.CHECK ALL FUSES. dosnt matter what they are labeled under dash and under hood replace any that are bad and retry to start. no start then check voltage to ecm grounds to. i dont have a wireing diagram to give you but for a small fee or free the dealer can make you a copy.make sure all the wires that go to battery terminals are not corroded and are making good contact [verified with volt meter]. if after all checks ok then replace ecm. as a side note i havent had to change one ever.
