SOURCE: dipstick for transmission fluid

There is no transmission dip stick... it is a sealed system and no service is necessary. If it's leaking, you'll need to have the seal replaced.

SOURCE: no dipstick to put transmission fluid into

HI, this transmission is a sealed type. you will need to purchase a special tool from the dealership to fill this unit properly.

Contact the nearest Audi dealer for this fill tool.

SOURCE: how can i check to transmission fluid level in 2005 ford explorer

Does not have a dip stick.

Start the vehicle set park brake

In the side if the transmission oil pan a bigger bolt with a small bolt in the center.

Remove smaller center bolt trans fluid should drip out at a fairly constant rate if not its low.

Hope this tip helps.

Need to add transmission fluid to 2001 kia rio

Add fluid through the dipstick tube with a small funnel. When checking level, car should be at operating temperature (engine and transmission warmed up), and put in park on a level surface, engine idling. Check the fluid level, shut off car, and add fluid as needed.
It is important not to overfill, as that can lead to damage from foaming and loss of fluid pumping through the transmission. And fluid should be hot when checked, because transmission fluid expands when hot. The level will be higher on the dipstick when hot than when fluid is cool.
Now if you have a manual transmission, there is no stick for checking level. You remove the fill plug, a large bolt on the side of the case about half-way up on the case, and see if fluid level is right up to the bottom of the plug hole.

How do i check a volvo 850 turbo's transmission fluid? do i have engine running? off? in park or neutral? thanks

Check the oil level as follows:

Park the car on a level surface with the engine idling . Slowly move the gear selector lever through all the shift positions and then to position P. Wait 3 minutes before checking the oil level.
As the illustration shows, the dipstick has a COLD and a HOT side. The oil level should between the MIN and MAX marks. Wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth.

WARNING! The oil may be very hot.

Do not use rags that could leave lint on the dipstick. The transmission is topped up via the dipstick tube. The space between the MIN and MAX marks on the dipstick corresponds to 0.5 US qt. (0.5 liter). Do not fill the transmission with too much oil, since this can result in oil being ejected from the transmission. Too little oil, on the other hand, can negatively affect transmission operation, particularly in very cold weather.

A Cold transmission: oil temperature 105° F (40° C). This is a normal temperature for the transmission after idling for about 10 minutes. At oil temperatures below 105° F (40° C), the level may be below the MIN mark.
B Warm transmission: oil temperature 169° F (80° C). This temperature after driving for about 30 minutes. At oil temperatures above 190° F (90° C), the level may be above the MAX mark.

Fluid type: ATF Dexron IIE and Mercon.

My 2007 G6 with a V6 engine doesn't have a dipstick to check the transmission fluid. Is this normal?

its a sealed transmission. it has a cap that screws on the transmission to add but you cant check the level. the only way is to put it on a level lift and under the transmission there are two small plugs that unscrew (metal bolts) may be allen head, cant remember exactly right now its been a while, one to drain and other about 2 or 3 inches higher that you remove and fill with fluid trough plastic cap i mentioned before till it starts draining trough the bolt hole. then you know it is level. tighen all screws and ports backup and your done.crzejkr_2.png

just add half qts by half qts till fluid drains from level plug. REMEMBER ENGINE MUST BE HOT AND RUNNING ON.
IF YOUR DRAINING CHANGING FILTER AND REFILING FROM NOTHING WARM ENGINE UP ON OLD FLUID THEN START PROCEDURE.

What is the correct transmission oil level?

you measure the trans level by pulling the trans dipstick with the car warmed up (after a short drive), on level ground, engine running-it should read within the 'hash marks' on the dipstick to be considered correct

I do not have the owner's manual and need to know how to fill the ATF resorvoir.

ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) is added to the transmission through the dipstick tube. First make sure that you are checking the fluid level correctly:

Start the engine and let the engine warm up for a minute or two.
Then pull the dipstick from the ATF dipstick tube and wipe it clean; reinsert it back into the tube, paying close attention that you are inserting it all the way down until the tube is sealed again.
Then remove the dipstick and check the level of fluid on the dipstick, with attention to the fluid level markings on the dipstick.
Do this several different times to make sure you are getting accurate readings, as some transmissions make it difficult to REMOVE fluid, in case of overfilling.
If you DO add any, add just a little at a time, and permit time for the fluid to settle, so you can get accurate readings of the dipstick fluid level.
Constantly recheck to make sure you do not overfill your transmission.

Hope this helps.

Need to add transmission fluid in Cadillac CTS 2004. How do you do it?

tod34 is correct. The "fill" area of this transmission is located on the transmission itself. It is a fluid leveling plug located low on the main case toward the back of the trans. You must pump the fluid in through that hole. If you are on level ground and the transmission is properly warmed, you should fill the transmission until the fluid level is flush with the bottom of the hole (starts spilling out)

Where does on put in transmition fluid?

Before you put transmission fluid in, make sure it needs it. Check the transmission fluid with vehicle warm, engine running, emergency brake set and transmission in neutral. Pull the dipstick and wipe it off. Insert the dipstick back into the dipstick tube completely and then pull it back out. The fluid level should be between the two marks on the bottom of the dipstick. If it needs fluid pour the fluid into the dipstick tube (using a funnel). Only add about 1/2 quart of fluid at a time before you recheck it. Do not over fill the fluid.

How do i add transmission fluid to my 1996 camry?

If you have a dipstick under your hood for the tranny fluid, then fill it in there slowly... if not, you'll need to fill it through the filler plug that will be on the side of the transmission just above the halfway point

Where do I check the transmission fluid on a 1997 Hyundai excel

Remove Transmission Fluid Level Check
Locate and remove the transmission fluid level checker, in most cars and trucks this is where the fluid is checked and added.
1687565.jpg
Insert fluid funnel and add transmission fluid until the proper amount of fluid level is reached. Let engine warm and recheck fluid level, add fluid as needed. Do not over fill the transmission, it could foam the fluid and cause low fluid pressure causing premature transmission failure. recheck transmission for leaks and recheck fluid level in a couple of days.

DIAGNOSIS AND TEST FLUID LEVEL AND CONDITION
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface. 2. Before removing the dipstick, wipe all dirt from the area around the dipstick. 3. With the selector lever in "P" (Park) and the parking brake applied, start the engine. 4. The engine should be running at idle speed and the fluid should be at normal operating temperature [80-90°C (176-194°F)]. 5. Move the selector lever to every position to fill the torque converter and hydraulic circuit with fluid, then place the lever in the "N" (Neutral) position. This operation checks that fluid level check is accurate. 6. Check if the fluid level is in the "HOT" range shown on the dipstick. If the fluid is low, add automatic transaxle fluid until the level reaches the "HOT" range.
