1. Disconnect battery, neg lead, you must wait 2 minutes after car is turned off before doing so,
2. Remove ignition coil pack from spark plug
3. Remove plug,
4. Gap new plugs, torque to 23 ft/lbs
5. Refit ignition coils
6. Reconnect battery neg lead

If you have individual cylinder coil pack, remove the coil pack and the spark plug will be under it. There is a spark plug boot on the bottom of the pack that plugs directly onto the spark plug.
Yes, on a 1996 Range Rover there is just a couple of bolts and the coil pack assy comes right off.
The cylinders are numbered on the coil pack. The 1996 has 1 coil pack for all the cylinders.
1999 -2002 has 2 coil packs which can also be replaced with everything still assembled but it is much more difficult and it can take a qualified technician upto 2 hours to replace them

A "main" relay can control multiple circuits, primarily for the ignition..
advise to him was to change the ignition module..
coil pack..
make sure you disconect the battery or the computer still reads that the circuit is open and will fry a perfectly good coil. I had the same issue and had to do a second time. Disconected the battery and now no problems.
