Using a 1.1 radiator cap on 3sfe ipsum what happens if I change it with 0.9.the current,1.1 seems to make the car over heat even thought it doesn't boil

Double check that your rad cooling fan is operating as it should, but after that, I'd be looking at a good rad flush, or rad replace. Believe it or not, your heater core is like a small rad, and when you turn the heater on, it actually cools the circulating coolant, slighly,and therefore shows a difference on your gauge. Like I said, make sure the rad fan is coming on when engine temperature is at normal or slightly higher, and if it is, then I'd be taking a close look at my radiator, especially if it wasn't replaced when headgasket was done.

hi jasso, I would recommend checking the water pump if you see no flow in the radiator. Make sure when you fill up the cooling system, that you fill it cold, and that the vent screw in the radiator is loose. fill system until fluid comes out the vent screw. tighten the screw, start the car and have someone run at 1500rpm and check for flow.also, make sure that you have your temp setting full hot and blower on middle speed so that you don't trap air in the heater core.

I'm assuming your car has the Northstar engine?.

Strangely enough,if you remove the thermostat in the Northstar engine, it will overheat, this is because the stat is both a thermostat and a pressure valve.I can't be bothered to explain in detail how the whole cooling system works but please understand that you need to put the stat back in,(or preferably a new one).As for the cooling fans,what you described is normal for the Northstar.

I need to know if the 3sfe engines have a distributor which uses a 4 or 5 pin cap.?

what vehicle does a 3sfe engine fit and how many pistons are there.
the cap will have 4 leads around the outside and 1 in the middle or if the cap has all the leads out the side it will have 2 leads for plugs centre 1 for coil and the next 2 for plugs.

Got a gurgling noise every now and then seems to be coming from the engine

Sounds like you may have trapped air in the water system if so needs bled....or the water is going into your overflow tank or back into the radiator...That should happen only when the engine heat is a little higher then normal causing the radiator cap to open and allowing the pressure to push the expanded water into the overflow tank..if you are not experiencing over heating problem then...My bet is your radiator cap is getting weak..have it checked and changed...if necessary.good luck...

My Toyota ipsum heats up there is a sound where the timing belt is its like a bearing id faulty can this be the cause of the heating ???

Tension pulley might be the notice but I don't think that would make it run hot..You changed the thermostat and said the water is circulating..If it's not leaking water I would check the Catalytic converter under car...When they start getting clogged up it will make your car run hot because the exhaust can't get out like it supposed to...You can also put a thermostat in that opens sooner

The thermostat housing is located by grabbing the upper radiator hose, and following it back to the engine block.
The housing that the hose is connected to is the thermostat housing.
Changing the thermostat will fix your problem!

No heat

from your description you have an air lock. You stated thermostat changed, I presume you just filled up radiator popped cap on and thought that was it?
Well you need to park on level ground, whilst cold remove cap start engine leave to idle until operating temp, keep clear of coolant filler as hopefully it will gurgle, bubble up and flow over then you need to top up with very warm water and anti freeze.
Wait as it may do it again before settling as the air lock will possibly be in your heater Matrix/Core hence cold air.

Have a 95 Limina car with 280 000KMs. I changed both head and intake gaskets a few months ago. I`ve also changed the heater core (leaking). Both times the system was flushed and filled. Replaced the...

yes I can help! it seem that you have some air in your cooling system. first you will have to drain the system by removing the lower radiator hose. clamp the radiator hose in place refail the system with 70% cooleant and 20% water. remove the radiator cap and start the engine allow air bubble to escape from the system while the engine is on but do not allow the coolean to over flow from the radiator. replace the radiator cap as soon as you see steam coming from the cooleant. another way is-- you can keep the radiator cap on and loose the bleeder valve that is located on the thermostat side and the other at the back of the engine near the fire wall or crow. Also check the thermostat. make sure it is in the right position and the little opening on the thermostat is not clog and the spring is pointing toward the engine. also make sure that thermostat is right one for your car.

Car overheat frequently and at time the engine sound is very loud

Several things can cause this overheating. Have you recently done a:
1. Check Hoses for Leaks
2. Check Radiator for Leaks --- Also, Change Radiator Cap ( can loose pressure there if
cap is bad)
3. Check Water Pump for Leaks. If Water Pump is bad, you will hear a loud noise from it
4 Complete Tune Up? Should be done at least 1x a Yr. Depending on how much you drive the Vehicle. Includes: Plugs, Plug Wires, Gas Filter, Air Breather Filter, PCV Valve, Adjust Timing,
Check Belts -- see if worn
5. Changed your Thermostat & Gasket and have the correct degree Thermostat in the Vehicle?
6.. Had your Radiator Rod and Cleaned out?
7. Temperture Sending Unit (located near Thermostat) could be bad
8. 02-Sensor (Generally located in the Exhaust Manifold - needs a socket with a space in it
to allow the Socket to fit over this top wire of the 0-2 Sensor )
9. Change oil and oil Filter.
10. Change Gas Tank Cap ---

Do all this yearly ( except the Radiator Rod & Clean ( do every 2-3 yrs), and you should not have
any over-heating nor stalling out, etc. and should pass emissions as well.
