It was running good
Check the 15 amp fuse on your EFI. It's the bottom one close to door post. The fuse tab on mine melted and was not making contact so I cut the wires from the fuse panel and put female ends on them to accept a fuse. Works fine. I've been building these Toyota Pickups with 22R and 22RE for what feels like a 100 years. I even have a new engine I put 125 miles on still on the engine stand here in my garage. Lot's of spare parts too. I've pulled 7 of them apart in the past just to keep one on the road. You can't find them any more.
Start with using a fuel pressure gage, if pressure shuts down abroaply, check fuel pump relay
If its fuel injected i suggest you turn the key to the ON position wait two seconds then do it again a few times. that will prime the gas filter. then try to start car
Testimonial: "It's not fuel injected"
SOURCE: 1988 toyota pickup truck 4cyl w/FI : fuel delivery issue
try using a different key to see if its a key/code issue.if it fires then dies this is normally the first thing to look at.
to check fuel from pump try undoing the nut on top of one of the injectors, crank engine fuel drips out ...no problem...
Check the steel fuel line under the intake manifold
had one that was almost completely clogged shut with ****
took a month of hunting but found this to be the problem
