I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.0l v6, that stalls while cruising down the road, and doesn't just start right back up, takes it awhile. Hesitation and jerking during acceleration (changed the spark plugs) Still does it right before it stalls. After I changed the spark plugs and it still proceeded to be a pain in the rear, I decided to hook it up to see what codes it would throw... Low and behold it doesn't throw off any code what so ever!!! I'm at a loss. I know there is obviously something wrong with it but without codes it like playing a guessing game that I can't afford.

If I remember, there is a two voltage fuel pump on this jeep, 12v when starting and around 5v while driving, looks like a bad fuel pump

Could be fuel delivery. Partially clogged fuel filter or weak fuel pump. Changing the fuel filter is a challenge but possible for a do it yourselfer. This is where I would go next.
Is it possible to be ready to check for fuel pressure or spark when it stalls?
If fuel pressure is within range when it stalls, then crankshaft sensor could be breaking down due to heat.

SOURCE: Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited P0700 diagnostic problem

P0700 means there is a transmission fault code in the transmission controller. Since the transmission controller doesn't have a light attached, it tells the engine controller to turn the light on using this code. You'll have to access the transmission controller to further diagnose the problem.

I have a 1997 jeep grand Cherokee limited addition. that Stalls

Hi! I had the exact same problem with my jeep before. The wiring (located on the back wall on passanger side to the left) You will see three sets of plugs with a lot of wires on them. I had to get everyone replaced and the wires rewired and sautered together. My truck would backfire so bad it busted my muffler 3 times!! So, try that and I think it will solve the problem.

My 1999 jeep will stop running while driving it

Hi, i have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee, 4.0 litre, had the same problem, quits running out of the blue, driving down the road, or sitting idling. starts right back up or takes some cranking to get it running. found out that the crankshaft position sensor was going bad, cost 40$ for the part, but had to have mechinac replace it due to it's location, hard to get at. jeep runs great now.

My 1997 jeep grand cherokee limited died on the road now it wont start back battery is still good it seems like its out of gad but there is gas in the tank

If you can hear the pump running inside the tank right after it stalls and you turn the key to the run position, I'd be looking at the crank position sensor. If that fails, fuel will reach the fuel rail but the injectors won't fire. Also check cam sensor, pump relay and ASD relay in power distribution center.

1999 Jeep grand cherokee limited - irregular idle

I don 't know if I can solve it, but I had a very similar problem on a 2002 Grd Cherokee Laredo. It ended up being the Throttle Positioning Sensor (TPS). Unfortunately the part alone is about $125 and and total installed cost was about $250. It would idle high at first, then gradually work it self down to a normal idle. Once it was warmed up it it would have an up and down RPM during idling, and several times it stalled out at intersections. There was also a lot of transmission clunking going on when you put it in reverse or drive.
Runs like a dream now. Clunking is gone and idle speed is just right.

1999 grand cherokee limited stall's out while driving

Check spark first if ok then look at the fuel system.Check if the fuel pump is working continuously when turning the key.If so remove the fuel line to the ejectors and check if there is fuel there. If no change the fuel filter.
