Question about Hyundai Cars & Trucks

My Hyundai 2006 1.4L is not reversing at all. It happened after replacing the the head lights. Could you please let me know my options.

Is it the break light switch that needs replacing? One local garage said it may be Inhibitor switch.

I’m presuming that your vehicle is automatic. Headlights have nothing to do with gearbox operation.
First check your gearbox oil level. Make sure you check it when the oil temp is hot and have cycled through all gears. Check the level in neutral. There should be a dipstick.
If your oil level is okay, then I would suggest having someone run diagnostics on the vehicle. It is possible that your inhibitor switch is acting up, but going off the age of the vehicle it’s more than likely in need of a gearbox oil flush. You might have a small amount of dirt in your valve body which could completely disallow for certain gears to get drive

SOURCE: inhibitor switch

eh , Automatic transaxel Range (TR) switch , can also be referred to as the Inhibitor Switch , personally i would call it the neutral safety switch , anyway you can find the "inhibitor" switch on top left side of transaxel , it goes over the shifter shaft coming out of the trans where the shifter cable bolts onto . Looks like a 1/4 of a circle . cheers mate

How to change stop light globe on 2008 hyundai getz

Remove the two 10 mm (head) bolts that hold the stop light. This bolts are between the tail light assembly and the tail gate weatherstrip. You can see them without having to remove anything.

By using a masking tape wrapped flat screwdriver, pry "back" the whole tail light assembly. Once out, you can twist the brake light (or reverse, or turn signal) bulb plug, remove and replace the bulb.

The Getz uses standard two filament brake globes (1/4 turn to install).

i think you are going to find that your valves are bent and you will have no compression. removing the head and getting a complete valve job is most likely in your future. in a fight between the top of the piston and the bottom of the valve the piston wins.

How to replace a 2006 hyundai sonata fog light bulb?

On the bottom side of the car under the fog light area there will be an inspection cover. it is held in place by two plastic trim clips. they will have what looks like a philips head on the screw. remove both of these then pull out the retainer (they are set up like a dry wall anchor). pull back the cover and unplug the bulb. twist the bulb counter clock wise to remove. install in reverse order.
Good luck!! EJ

How do you replace the fog light bulbs on a 2007 hyundai sonata

Look under the bumper and you will see two large phillips head screws right in front of the wheels. Take these two screws out and bend/move the plastice piece out of the way. Now you can easily get to the bulb. There is a cap that twists off that protects the wires and back of the bulb. Twist this off and then remove the plug portion from the back of the bulb. The bulb then turns 1/4 to 1/2 revolution to loosen and remove. Reverse steps for installation.

yes you have an engine misfire, probably a bad spark plug or plug wire, maybe a coil issue, do not continue to drive it or you will do severe damage to the catylitic converter
