SOURCE: hooked up the battery reversed polarity. Blew the fusible link but replaced it. Now the car will crank but not start.

start checking fuses hopefully its just another blown fuse if your lucky

but if all the fuses are good, you probably fried something like the computer or ignition module and probably the radio

hopefully its something simple and cheep but don't be surprised if you have to shell out some cash to replace the computer

SOURCE: 1992 Toyota Camry won't crank

Check the ground cable going from the battery to
alternator, then to chassis. Make sure there is no
rust at the chassis ground wire terminal, and that it
is very tight. The fusible link will be off the alternator
red power cable, usually, but not 100% on that car.
Good luck.

SOURCE: The green wire of the

This means theres a dead short somewhere, so the systems it runs have a short you will need to remove power from each one until the short stops. take a look around for wires touching ground, the raido woundnt be the problem it has its on fuse and so does the horn, remove the starter wire, the small wire to starter and leave the big battery cable going to starter and then try to start it, i know it wont start but this will tell you if its the starter thats shorting out, if that doiesnt do it then continue remove connections until you locate it, also repair the wire and then turn the key on and see if it blows the fuselink if it doesnt then you know its the starter, but then crank and see if it blows to make sure, if it only blows when you crank it then its the starter, if it blows as soon as the key is turn on then its something else. hope this is helpful, good luck.

SOURCE: 06 pontiac grand prix wont start no clicking when you turn the key over even jump starting the battery, has dash lights & radio & parking lights. battery tested good. put a used starter & altinator on

Used parts such as starters and altinators don't last. It might **** but it sounds like you need to buy a new starter, altinator, and battery. Or just start with buying one at a time.

Testimonial: "kellertech1?? i tried something new.. my batt. was dead after sitting for 5hrs so i jumped it & later unhooked the batt. & hooked the batt. back up next day & car started ok kinda a weak start but started. so can a starter drain a batt or where should i look for a short or could this be a weak batt. that tested good but 2 weak 2 start the car."

Are there special procedures for jump start in a 2007 Toyota Solara?

If the battery was flattened, the horn is sounding because the immobilizer and alarm needs resetting.

anti-theft reset

The safest order to attach the jumper cables is as follows:
  1. Attach one red jumper cable clamp to the positive terminal on the dead battery.
  2. Attach the other end of the same cable, the second red jumper cable clamp, to the positive terminal on the working (live) car battery.
  3. Attach one black jumper cable clamp to the negative terminal of the working (live) car's battery.
  4. Attach the other end of that cable, the second black jumper cable clamp, to an unpainted piece of stationary metal on the car with the dead battery. Do not attach this clamp to the negative terminal on the dead car's battery.

How to reset alarm on 2002 Toyota Tacoma?

Use the supplied key fob unless it is not factory fitted. If fitted by others, I would ask them to advise in the first instance.

1997 Toyota Tacoma new battery, clamps,& fuses.wont turn over NO sounds when key is turned .lights are only thing working????? . What am I missing

Have you tried tapping on the starter then trying to start the vehicle may be a bad spot in starter usually if no sound when trying to start and new battery will mean the starter is no good . Starter can be found by following the positive cable off the battery.

Having problem starting my 98 toyota tacoma..it takes several turns in order to "catch" i noticed earlier that a humming sound comes on when i turn the key...i already replaced the battery that autozone...

The humming sound could be the fuel pump. It starts on the ignition to prime the pressure in the fuel system. It might be worth getting it checked as that could be starving the system of fuel.

My 2001 toyota Tacoma won't start. I was cleaning

Try putting the key in the driver door lock and turning from lock to unlock. That should dissable the factory alarm system. You may have to do it a few times before it works.

Horn/lights on 2002 Toyota Tacoma

Rewire your horn from the steering wheel to the horn. Its not difficult, I can't tell you how to take the steering wheel apart but you can get a Haynes Repair Manual. It'll have all you need and more. You can use speaker wire, split it in two. Run one cable from the positive in the battery to the horn switch in the steering wheel. Another from the switch to the horn. You have a short somewhere, to me is easier just to run new wires than to find the short-circuit. Make sure when you run the cables through the firewall you run through a grommet so it does not get damaged by metal. Before anything check your headlight wires that they are not touching the horn.
