How do I remove rear panel where Jack is to get at and t/s short on 05 Mazda tribute. Keeps blowing brake light fuses.

Already tested brake switch and other switch above it. Disconnected trailer wires. Still blowing fuse when brakes applied. Rear passenger wheel well is rotten and was told wires come up around there.

SOURCE: Only the left rear trailer light comes on when I apply the brakes.

I had the same problem with my 2002 Silverado last summer when I first bought my boat and was getting the trailer ready to go. Like an idiot, I rewired the boat trailer on that side before I decided to look at the owner's manual. The pickup has separate fuses for right and left side of trailer. They're located in the big box in the engine compartment. I replaced the 10 or 15 size fuse and haven't had a problem since. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: rear brake lights inop...3rd brake light works fine...

Switch module in steering column will need to be replaced or the brake switch itself at the pedal. There was actually a recall for the pedal switch that came out in early 02 Usually the switch in the column about $125.00 at the aftermarket parts stores

SOURCE: Right side trailer brake light does not work

Did yo check the fuse panel inside the truck its located on the drivers side dash , you have to open the driver side door, in there is a 10 amp fuse that is linked to rt trailer brakes and rt turn signal for the trailer, if the fuse is good there is a black box under the dash located on the floor on the driver side, just to the left of the break, thats where must of the plug in wire harness is for the trailer breaks!

SOURCE: tail light fuse keeps blowing when lights on at

I have the same fing problem with my 2002 Land Cruiser. I have taken it to the dealer 4 times. The only luck I have had was removing the tire tools from where they were stored by the rear tail light. It has been 3 months since they last blew. Hopefully that will solve the problem until I swll the truck. My Toyota dealer scked and was - 0 - ZERO - 0 - help. I will not buy another toyota due to my experience at the service department.

Why do Brake lights fuses keeps blowing

Because you have yet to get yourself a wiring
diagram & do the required testing to find a problem

You find a problem first--you have a symptom only

Why would you replace a fuse more than once?

Like watching them go up in smoke & cost you money

No brake lights keeps blowing fuse. replaced brake switch was good for a week repaced switch again now keeps blowing fuses' I know theres a short but were...any Ideas

the notorious vw brake light switch!!! what color is your switch, black? purple? green? and are you installing it correctly? you should have the green one for i think it is the latest and greatest revised switch. super easy to do... T20 torx bit to remove panel remove plug from brake switch, turn CCW to remove, take new switch, and W/O pushing the pedal(IMPORTANT!!!) insert new switch and give it a click CW to seat it in place! reinstall connector and panel. let me know if that helps!

The 120 amp main fuse keeps blowing in my 2001 mazda tribute

Blowing this fuse is usually a sign of a shorted out starter or the positive battery cable. Make sure the cable has no holes in the coating where it could be shorting to ground. Next would be to replace the starter with a known good one.

Is it hard to change the rear whell bearings on 05

You are probably looking at about an hour per side. Brakes and backing plate must be removed. then the mounting bolts for the axle itself must be removed. this operation should be performed one side at a time in order to save the fluid inside the differential casing. It will become imperative that both oil seals are changed with the bearings. P.S. depending on the graciousness of the engineers, you may not have to remove the backing plates. Thank you, Dana

Back window wiper won't work ,05 mazda tribute.don't have manual

Start with the basics. could be something as simple as the fuse. I have a 03 Tribute so i guess it is the same model as yours! if so. The fuse can be found in the fuse box in the passenger footwell. There is a small inspection plastic cover in the kick panel. if you un clip the cover, on the reverse side you will find a tool that clips onto the mini blade fuses to extract them (very useful). Also on the reverse side of the cover is a list of the fuses and to what it relates. The rear wiper fuse from memory is approx a 1/4 of the way down the left column of fuses 10A but just confirm on the list. Mini blade fuses are usually coloured but transparent so you will be able to see if the fuse element is still in tact, but always best to double check with a continuity meter. Hope this helps. Simon.
