It is a bad connection somewhere, check to make sure the wires are tight at the starter. If that doesn't work try using a jumper cable to go from the neg terminal of the battery to a bracket on the engine.

My 2002 pontiac montana security and battery light flashing and now it wont start

you could have a bad alternator not keeping the system at the appropriate level of charge. Or check the battery, replace with other known battery that is good and see if this fixes the problem. Clean all battery terminals. Dead shorts in battery can really create problems and sometimes can load test good but on the low side. Try the battery swap first if you have access to one

2002 pontiac montana wont start won't turn over

First thing I would check would be the battery. Open the hood and make sure the battery terminals are tightly connected to the battery (try to turn them on the post by hand). If they are tight and you have a volt-ohm-meter you can check the battery charge yourself. If not you can remove the battery and take it to an autoparts store and ask them to check it for you.

I need to jump start our second vehicle using the Montana van. I can't find the negative battery terminal to connect to.

Typically next to the battery, there will be a terminal looking plug on the shock mount. That is where you will attach the negative for jump starting the vehicle. Basically, you just need to ground out the wire somewhere, so when they built the van, they included a perfect ground.

This was an intermitten problem until yesterday. When you turn the key to start the van everything goes dead. Sometimes when i would place the gear shift in neutral all power would come back and the van...

You have a bad connection with the battery somewhere. The battery controls all the power, not any of the relays. It is probably making noise cause it doesn't get power. You need to check all your connections and make sure the terminals and post are cleaned. Make sure your ends are tight. They may need done over with new terminal ends. Check all your wires in the charging system. Somewhere along that route, you have a bad connection, loose wire, or bad wire perhaps.

2000 asto will not start just clicks

Either the battery is on its way out and is not holding a charge or the battery cable terminals are not clean, not tight or are corroded causing a bad connection. This is the best case scenario, worst case would be the starter itself.

@[email protected] have 2002 pontiac montana mini-van...i filled up the tank above the full mark...got in ...started it up...it went up to full...then dropped down to empty and low fuel light stays...

It sounds like the fuel tank sending unit is bad. You can try pouring a can of BGK44 into the tank to see if it will clean up some of the deposits that can actually foul the sending unit. If that doesn't work the unit will have to be replaced.

Wont start with jump.

It is most likely either a dead cell in the battery, a faulty alternator, or voltage regulator. Take the battery to an autoparts store and have it tested. The alternator may be faulty which is why the system charging failure alert came on, but check the battery first and then the alternator. Hope this helped and best wishes.
