Just rotated my tires, then the Service Tire System Soon light came on .
I was told that the dealship would need to reset the system. I live way to far from a dealership to take it in. Will this go off after a while or is this something I can do myself?

Using the Driver Information Center (DIC)
Important: After resetting, the tire pressure monitoring (TPM) system requires up to 8 km/h (5 miles) of flat, smooth road straight line driving in each of the 4 speed ranges to complete the calibration process. For further information, refer to Tire Pressure Monitor Description and Operation . If the TPM system does not reset, refer to Driver Information Center (DIC) Switch Inoperative .
Set all tire pressures to the recommended kPa/psi. Refer to Vehicle Certification, Tire Placard, Anti-Theft, and Service Parts ID Label .
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Press the vehicle information button until TIRE INFLATION MONITOR SYSTEM PRESS (down/left arrow) SWITCH TO RESET is displayed.
If the system is being reset due to a low tire pressure condition, press and hold the down/left arrow button until TIRE INFLATION MONITOR SYSTEM HAS BEEN RESET is displayed. If the system is being reset due to a tire rotation, press and hold the down/left arrow button for 5 seconds.
Release the down/left arrow button and TIRE PRESSURE NORMAL is displayed.
Start with making sure the tires have correct air pressure in each tire, then go from there. The alarm is a warning there is an issue with your tires. Low air can set it off or an imbalance. If the treads are worn due to alot of mileage, check those. Tire blowouts are no fun and can cause a serious accident or damage to your vehicle like bent rims. Tires are sometimes 'weighted' when rotated. There may be uneven wear if they do not get rotated per tire manufacturer's recommendation.
Check to see if the sensors are reconnected. If they are, lower rear tire pressure to 55 to 60 and recheck status light. You will have to turn the engine off and back on to reset.
That is a stretch but it has worked for me on other Chev models.
P.S. Confirm 55 x units mbar KPa Psi with tire pressure gauge.
As for the dealers, they tend to change the tire pressure sensor. It's most likely in there policy since they know the sensor will need to be replaced soon after and don't want too see you again for a bad tire pressure sensor.
There are good tire shops out there that have good training that will not damage the sensor that is in the rim which in most case is connected to the valve stem.
Keep in mind that there are two types of monitor device. There is the Direct system which has a sensor/transmitter inside the wheel.
The other type is the Indirect system which works off the ABS system and counts the rotation of the wheel. As one of the tire is low on air pressure the rotation is different and the ABS will signal the ECM to indicate that there is a lost of air from which tire.
One of the best leading tire company out there is "Tire Rack"

Good luck and hope this helped
If all the sensors retrained, you either still have low tire pressure, or the computer which reads the sensors needs to be reprogrammed with a different tire pressure threshold.
I have a 2005 with tire pressure monitoring also and was surprised when I rotated the tires that the system continued to work O.K. The manual says the dealer must retrain the sensors to recognize the tires but so far mine seem to be working just fine. Retraining probable requires digital readout box to reset the computer and unless you know someone who has one the dealer is probably your best bet.
