SOURCE: Oil light flashing occasionally

It could be a faulty oil sending unit, but it would be advisable to have the oil preasure checked with a mechanical guage to determine if it is a sending unit or low oil preasure. Oil preasure low enough to allow the light to come on is low enough to possibly cause major engine damage.

SOURCE: no oil pressure in my rover v8 engine

You may have sludge in the "pickup tube" which would prevent oil from circulating through the oil pump into the motor. Remove the oil pan and inspect and use a long piece of weed trimmer line to unclog if the tube has any nasty sludge in it. Do NOT alter the length of the tube. Make sure to remove any sludge build up in the pan.

Oil light flickers and overheating

Sorry to say the oil light may be for low oil pressure, not necessarily low oil level. If the oil pressure is low, you are wearing out the bearings and engine parts at a very fast pace.

Oil pressure light on in my range rover

I would have the oil pressure checked with a mechanical gauge.
The gauge is inserted into the hole where the electric switch goes for the warning light.
The switch could be faulty, or you could be loosing oil pressure once the engine warms up.

At the first 7,500 miles the oil light did not go on.... is it supposed to?

The oil pressure light is supposed to come on when you switch the ignition on, and then go off within seconds of the engine starting. If however it is an oil level light, it is not supposed to come on until the oil level falls to the stage where it needs to warn you that it requires top up. Please rate this solution if you find it useful.

How to turn change oil light

iI you mean 'how to turn change oil light off" go to fuse panel. Open drivers door there is a panel cover on the side of dash board, remove cover there is a red RESET button that resets oil pressure and tire pressure. Turn the ignition key to the on position but don't start the car. Now press and release the reset button the change oil light should start to flash, now press and hold the reset button until you hear chimming hold until chimming stops then release, the change oil light should go off. If you need to reset tire pressure press reset button twice, the first push will make the change oil light flash the second press will make the tire pressure light flash then hold untill chimming stops, light should go out . Hope this helps.

2008 Scion TC Warning Light

This is already covered in the owner's manual, but here it is again as a quick reference.

Every 5,000 miles, a "Maintenance Required" light will blink for the first couple seconds after you start your car. It will continue to do so until it is reset. If it is not reset, than it will eventually turn on your "Check Engine" light. The purpose of the maintenance required light is to remind TC owners to change their oil. The factory recommended interval is 5,000 miles, but you can reduce the interval the light will come on to a mileage interval of your choice.

1. Before starting, make sure that the odometer is not on one of the trip mileage odometers but is displaying the standard odometer.

2. With the car off, press and hold down the odometer reset button. While still holding it, start the car.

3. The light should continue to blink for a couple seconds and than disappear. That will reset the light for another 5,000 miles.

4. The following are steps to change the interval in which the maintenance required light comes on. Right after you turn on the ignition while holding the reset button, you'll notice that the odometer display will show 5 bars. Each bar corresponds to a 1,000 miles. As each bar disappears, the interval will increase (0 bars = 5k, 1 bar = 4k). Release the reset button at the interval you desire.
