2010 land rover. Smart key went thru washing machine and didnt work. Dried and changed battery. It started and aftwr didnt. Dash said the battery was low so i figured change it to. Now dash says smart key no found.?! Remote works to unlock doors ect but wont recognize key. It did start once more?! But looses contact with remote. I did use emergency key to open the door originally and alrm went off ect couple times

have u tried under the dash a black box which is to alarm open it up there will be 2 pins there that u need to bridge with a flat screwdriver at the same time the blinkers should flash then press each of your remotes to programme them hope this helps

you need to take it to the dealer and have them check the bcm for codes.... also have them check to be sure you have the latest software in the bcm.. its possible that you just need a software update... there are several TSB's covering the concern you have..... it can be a very simple fix with software or even a stuck lock switch may need to be replaced... without the proper diagnostic codes being read from the bcm all that can be done is guessing..and that can be expensive...

Hi,

I have a similar problem in my x type. Although if I press unlock button on the key first and then use the metalic key to unlock it dissables the alarm.

Also according to the manual if you unlock by the metalic key the car starts a beeping sound its I think 15-20 second timer within which you should put the key and start the ignition (don't need to start the engin) this will dissarm the alarm if not the alarm will go off in 15-20 second.

Hope this information is of any use, am trying to get hold of Jaguar dealers to fix this issue. If you come accross any solution please do let me know too

you need to reset alarm/immobiliser.lock car with remote, hold button down for 30 secs,then press/hold down unlock button,should reset.another way is with key in ignition/turned on, press alarm button down and hold for 30 secs.this resets immobiliser.toyota
