Ceiling Fan: Why does it sometimes run Slow & other times Fast - with no adjustment on my part? Electrical or Motor Problem???

Have a ceiling fan. It runs somewhat slow, in my opinion. At some point in the Summer, it suddenly started running fast & I was soooo happy! It ran fast for a couple of weeks. But then it went back to slow again. Adjusting it does nothing - seems to be no way to get it to run fast, like I want it. PROBLEM: Electrical OR Motor?? Thank you!!!!

It sounds like there is a voltage issue. Less than 110 volts = slow running... more than 120 it would run faster...
So the question is is the fan on a dimmer. If it is it needs to have the switch changed.

Testimonial: "not on a dimmer switch. :)"

If it is not on a dimmer then the motor may be faulty or the voltage at the fan is below the minimum level for the fan ... 110V

How old is the unit ? Also, is it on its own circuit ? If it has other components on the same circuit it may be dropping power needed by the fan .

Testimonial: "My GUESS is that the unit is 14 years old - as old as the townhome. I moved in just 5 years ago. It has always been slow. :)"

SOURCE: Ceiling fan runs slow

Sounds like something is binding. If you have full voltage on the fan and you can't find the source of what is binding, you will have to replace it.

How do I remover the globe on a hampton bay ceiling fam model uc7078t

that is the remote number.

Which model Hampton Bay ceiling fan do I have?
On Hampton Bay ceiling fans, the product number is usually found on a sticker (usually silver) on top of the motor housing. If you don't have your packaging or manual, it may be difficult to see the label on your motor housing. Try using a mirror or your smartphone to take a picture of the label.

Hi i have isuzu npr 2010 and have overheat problem if motor work slow not have problem but during the presser working have overheat problem if stop and motor work slow become normal

If I'm understanding u right, u overheat when the AC is not on?! If so, it sounds like the electrical fan for the AC is working & the electric, radiator cooling fan is not operating. This may be caused by a bad fan switch, coolant sensor fan relay, electrical short to the fan or it may be a simple fuse. Good Luck

I have 3 black, 1 tan, 1 gray wireing from ceiling. I have a wall switch that controls 2 ceiling fans in a mobile home . i want to connect a new ceiling fan that has 1 black, 1 white, 1 blue wireing.

The gray tan and the other wires usually have plug on the end and the plug into the fan unit when it's put together . The part the mounts to the ceiling should be blue black and white

2004 jeep grand cherokee engine cooling fan runs slow

Could be either one, but usually its the fan motor.
You can run a wire direct from the battery to bypass the relay to see how fast the fan is able to run. The connector on the fan relay can become damaged too.

Engine overheats sometimes while driving or sitting still.ac works and so does condenser fan. Radiator fan does not work. 1st thing i tried was replacing radiator relay switch under hood next to battery....

Check voltage at fan motor, sounds like fan motor has had it, that's why it was spinning slow, kinds like a starter, won't work as fast when starting to go out or not work at all, if you have voltage, replace it.
