How to reset the security alarm system in a 98 Buick park avenue tha car does start

Someone put the wrong key (resistor value) in the ignition lock, you will have to disconect the battery for 3 min. Make sure you have the right key. Very important! Make sure the climate control is off before disconecting/conecting the battery.

Did you try the drivers door lock cylinder?

On mine I bypassed it with this solution after it was locked down for weeks: http://newrockies.ca/vatsbypass . This one will bypass the entire system and not only the key and lock cylinder. I wanted to kick the whole system out of my car and never hear about it anymore.

Put your door lock key in the door lock and turn it. Turns the security off.
