You are probably unaware that your jeep has an aftermarket keyless entry system....Try this....roll down the drivers window....push the power door lock......get out/close the door...and attempt to open the door as u normally would.......it should be locked...... use your key to unlock the door....get in.....insert the key into the ignition and turn it to on...((((DON"T TRY 2 START IT UN TILL THE WARNING BELL STOPS DINGING & ALL THE DASH WARNING LIGHTS ARE OUT)))...........usually 5 dinging sounds.......at any rate just wait untill the sounds stops and fire up your jeep.....i hope this works for ya.....good luck

What can keep the motor from firing and starting on a 94 jeep grand cherokee inline 6

the alternator has no affect on weather it will start or not... could be a bad crank sensor fairly common on those and definately will not start if it is bad it controls spark

94' Jeep Gc shuts off while driving. wont restart for hours!!

Sounds like either the fuel pump is going bad and overheating, or, the crankshaft position sensor is going bad...both items will give similar symptoms. Both are not terribly difficult jobs but are time consumers. Before doing either repair, you need a code scan and better diagnosis than I can give you here without a hands-on examination. Fuel pump can be diagnosed by spraying carb cleaner into the throttle body while cranking in "no start" condition. If engine fires up then stalls it's a pump problem. If not then it's a spark control problem.

93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Won't start

The crankshaft position sensor was seriously problematic in those old jeeps. It's located towards the top of the bell housing slightly to the driver's side I think.

Engine cranks over like normal but will not fire or start

try using starting fluid see if it fires you may have tripped the fuel reset switch see owners manual for location of the switch, disconnect battery for 15 min reset computer this also never hurts to try and will sometimes correct comp errors

My jeep won't start right away ?

Check body and dash grounds. Pressure test injector rail. You may have either a partially plugged fuel filter or low capacity pump.

Engine stops immediatly after starting

Sounds like faulty Crank position sensor. These tend to go out alot on Jeeps. Most of the time it will be running fine and then it will shut off like someone shut the key off. Hope this helps.

Sounds like the starter decided to quit on you. Replace it and things will be better.
