O2 sensors and cat monitors will not cause this condition, try cleaning the MAF sensor, CRC chemicals makes the special spray, avail at most auto parts stores like Kragen.

SOURCE: wires to 1996 chevy cav starter

Most chevy cars have 3 wires. I main wire that comes from the battery. Another a little smaller wire that goes to the same post in the center of the starter solinoid. And 1 small wire that goes to the smaller threaded post on the side.

SOURCE: Chevy Avalanche won't start

If you're getting no power at all when you turn the key to start, try disconnecting the battery and then hook it back up. Chevy has had some problems with an ignition relay solenoid that's mounted under the driver's side dash. Disconnecting power could reset the switch....If that seems to be it, a replacement is around $250. at a chevy dlrshp.

SOURCE: removal of transmission from 02 Avalanche

you will need a good floor jack, a flat place to work and a decent manual. Also a good set of hand tools including swivel sockets & extensions (both 3/8 & 1/2") One trick during install that I use is to place guide bolts in the block (bolts with heads cut off and a screwdriver slot cut in them) This way trans does not rock too much and will couple with the converter without breaking it. Make bolts long enough to be useful but so they will not interfere with the trans so as to preventing it grom going up flush with the block. Transmissions are large and heavy doing one on the floor is definitely not fun!!!
Good luck

How many gear shifts solenoids on a 2005 Chevy Avalanche

The 2005 Chevy Avalanche is available with different transmission and shift options, which can affect the number of transmission shift solenoids present.

However, generally, the 4-speed automatic transmission (4L60E) used in the 2005 Chevy Avalanche typically has a total of 7 transmission shift solenoids. These solenoids are used to control the activation and deactivation of the transmission's clutches and valves, allowing the vehicle to shift gears smoothly and seamlessly.

It's important to note that the number of transmission shift solenoids may vary depending on the year, model, and configuration of the Chevy Avalanche.

04 AVALANCHE TRANSMISSON DOES NOT WORK IN ANY GEAR

Ouch... might be time for the "GM" transmission overhaul... IF the transmission fluid and filter are not changed regularly during its life,, this wiLL happen...it happened to me TWICE.. ouch.. (vehicles were inherited).. I used a local drag racer who has a transmission shop.. they work great now..I have a hard time trusting some dealers.. so, ..I went to the local drag strip and asked around, found "the guy".. good luck..

To much fluid in transmission? chevy avalanche

Usually after dropping the pan and changing the filter, four quarts is safe to start. After a long warm up, the level will have to be checked. May take from 1/2 to 2 more quarts.

2) Air filter
3) Fuel filter.

Please report back after checking those, replacing and/or testing.

The transmission filter is under the car under the transmission fluid pan. you have to lift up your car loosen the volts, take of the pan, take of the filter put in the new one, put the new one on, put the transmission fluid pan in place, put the bolts and tighten them, lower the car and put however much transmission fluid your car takes. Hope the best of luck for ya.

2003 Avalanch fuel gage

You have a problem with the stepper motor gauge that Chevy used in the 02-06? Avalanche. All the gauges use the same stepper motor. They just go wonky and do all kinds of weird things. I have replaced two on mine already and two more are now acting up. There is a guy selling the motors and the repair for this problem on E-bay.
