SOURCE: Chevrolet captiva 2.0 lt poor mpg captiva has

I also have a Chevy Captiva 2L Diesel but with the auto box. The MPG on that one is abysmally bad! I bought it a few weeks ago with just under 30K miles on the clock (2007 model), and it returns around 230 miles on a full tank! That's around 17 MPG and probably on par with a Hummer!!
I was expecting the auto box to be less efficient than the manual of course but not to consume twice as much. Anyone out there with any ideas as to why this could be? I was actually already checking under the car to see if it loses fuel... We live in the suburbs and our trips can be considered a mix of urban and extra urban (they are admittedly on the short side and from a cold winter start; still, this doesn't justify the extremely low MPG). The car seems adequately powered for its weight and considering the small'ish engine and auto box.
Thanks!

SOURCE: Chevrolet Captiva reversing light switch

The 10A BACKUP fuse in the fuse block - underhood supplies ignition positive voltage to the park/neutral position (PNP) switch of the automatic transmission. When the transmission is placed in reverse, the switch supplies voltage to the back up lamps and the inside rearview mirror. The back up lamps receive ground at G401 and G403.

2014 chevy captiva key won't shut all the way off , stops in acc position can't get key out battery will go dead help

make sure vehicle is in park pull back selector and place in park again and try key -can push selector in park position and try remove key at same time --if battery dead boost vehicle and turn key off --there have been past problems with this happening in captivias aveos and a few other s with the problem either being ignition switch /cylinder ///park selector people have tried up to 10x before key came loose -- under key cylinder or steering column should be a small plug or hole either a strong piece of wire or small screwdriver to fit up hole you should be able to push on a key release button and turn key --if and when or if can drive over to a dealer you should be under a warranty and have problem checked
