Cooling fan relay could be bad . cooling fan fuse - C/FAN 40 amp. under hood fuse box , as are C/FAN lo & C/FAN HI relay's . Video's on youtube on testing relay's an power an control circuit's at the relay base .socket etc... Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb Enter vehicle info. Year , make , model an engine size. Under system click on engine , then under subsystem click on cooling system . Click the search button then the blue link . Looking at the diagram i see the ECM controls the cooling fans relay's . You mite want to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.

well, we have wired the cooling fan up direct before, bypassing the relay switches. maybe this will help on repair costs.

SOURCE: 2001 Kia Sportage fuse 4 radiator fan?

Radiator fan fuse is fuse # 5 (40 amp/Green) located behind the interior fuse access panel on the left side of the instrument panel next to the steering column. Also, in the underhood Power distribution center, next to the air cleaner filter are two black fan relays: high speed (F) at the far left, second row down and a low speed, 1st one to the right on the bottom row.

SOURCE: Both radiator fans have stopped working. Not the fuse.

have you tried to hot wire them to see if they work? If they do it's probably the sendor unit on the engine or radiator not giving the signal

My 2004 kia rio its overheting just when i stop

Hi.

Check that the fan is starting and working OK. When you drive the air hitting the front of the radiator may compensate a malfunctioning fan. When you stop without the fan working the radiator gets hotter and your dash tells you that there is overheating.

If the fan is working replace the thermostat that may be starting the fan too late. Also check fan fuse and relay.

Do not drive the car in this conditions. Overheating can easily cause damage to the head gasket. An head gasket problem will require a more expensive repair.

Regards.
