I had the same problem with my T5 130. My mechanic replaced the head gasket to no avail, then we checked the oil filter, that was ok.then we went on to a web forum and found out that the AXD engine suffers from water pump failure. We took it off and it was corroded, the seal had failed and was pumping water into the block. My advice,CHECK WATER PUMP FIRST! Good luck Marc,Somerset.

The problem is probably a high resistant connection to the comfort module under the drivers seat (the little black box).
i had the same problem what i did was
disconnect the battery
look under the seat and you will see two sets of wires feeding the comfort module wrapped in a cloth tape individualy then together. carefully strip the tape back about 6-10 inches from where they are taped together to expose the wires.
you should find a spliced connection on the red blue wire (probably coroded). you'll have two red blue wires feeding up from the floor and one feeding on towards the comfort module.
i cut the connection off getting rid of the corrosion, stripped back the wires then re twisted and soldered them together making sure all wires made a good connection to each other. then re wrapped them in insulation tape.
re connect the battery
tried the key in the door which worked then tried the fob which also worked problem solved in 10mins.
