Why don't you just use the key . If you do not have one then take it to the dealer get your vin number scan and get a key . I have owned 25 towncars and never been able to see someone get in that way. You can take one rear speaker out cut biiger hole and get in the trunk then what the reales stile only work with power

SOURCE: Trunk wont pull shut.

You have a pull down switch that activates the pull down motor for the trunk lid to close. The manufacture of this part supplies this to Ford & General Motors vehicles. You can go to a Cadillac dealership & purchase this part far cheaper than at Ford. I use to work at a GM dearlership & my neighboring Ford dealer would order this part from me for the cost of mine where less than the cost from Ford. Figure those guys out at Ford. No wonder they don't need a goverment bailout

SOURCE: I went to open my 2005 Toyota Corolla trunk using

If you have rear seats that fold down you can access the latch mechanism from the left side rear seat....if you are flexible. pull the corner of the seat forward to allow your arm to slide in behind. about 14-16" in, feeling up inside the trunk you can feel 3 quarter size holes in the sheet metal. The second hole has the cable release arm. stick your finger up there are pull towards you. this will release the seat allowing it to fold down. Crawl into the trunk. there is a glow in the dark release handle on the inside of the trunk lid to open the trunk. Note, these are instructions for an '04 corolla but I think it should work

My trunk button will not open trunk on 12 malibu. there is no key entry and no fob.

Could be the trunk release relay ,located in the rear fuse/relay box . It's under the back seat . trunk fuse # 22 10 amp - located in the same rear fuse box. Could also be the trunk latch actuator ,could be a wiring issue , could be a BCM - body control module problem . The trunk lid open button is a input to the BCM . When the BCM see's this input it energizers the trunk relay . Do you know how to look at a wiring diagram an use a voltmeter to test automotive electrical circuits ? If not ,your best bet mite be to take it to a qualified repair shop.

Trunk locks not opening

This is very complex if your not familiar with how Class 2 serial data communications work . When you press that trunk lid release button it sends a low voltage signal to the BCM - body control module. Here is how the factory service info. says how it works .
When the vehicle is in park and the trunk release switch is pressed it grounds the rear compartment lid release switch input in the Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM then sends a Class 2 message to the Remote Function Actuator (RFA). The RFA supplies an internal ground for the coil side of the rear compartment lid release relay activating the relay. The rear compartment lid release actuator receives battery voltage through the 15 A trunk release fuse when the relay closes. Ground is supplied by G400.
Your best bet is to take your vehicle to a dealer or some other qualified repair shop that has a factory scan tool or a professional grade type .
You could check the TRK/REL relay in the rear fuse/ relay box .Because you can't test the class 2 data to the rear integrated module. Fuse Block Rear

Cables are not hook up to battery someone close trunk now cant get trunk open

Why are your battery cables off? Does the trunk have a key lock? With some makes and models, the rear seat back will fold down, allowing access to the trunk. If not, you may be able to remove rear seat back then see if you can access the trunk.

If the trunk release is electric, have to check wiring circuit and applicable fuse.

What is model year, I'll try to look up trunk release wiring circuit.

I was changing a fuel pump in my 01 xj8 and had to disconnect eletric wires now thati closed trunk cant get it open have electricity but must of disconnected wire for trunk lock now the key wont open it...

If the key won;'t work, your only other solution is to remove the rear seats. You may be able to reach through the rear seat bulkhead and pull the release catch.

I have a Lincoln LS 2000. I locked my keys in the trunk. I can get into the car itself, but the button to pop the trunk won't work. I can pop the hood and the gas but they trunk itself won't pop. And I...

You can try to remove the trunk switch and cross the two wires on the back of the switch if the switch is bad. If that does not work put 12volts to one wire and ground the other to the metal of the car. If the latch release is good it should pop open. If the solenoid on the latch is bad your going to need a lock smith.

sorry but there is no way we can know what has happened, a body shop is not a good choice for the wiring damage, they fix sheet metal not wiring, have the car towed to a dealer and get the wiring fixed there, then if u need body work have the BS finish the job. Sorry i can't be of more help here.
