Is it no fuel or no spark?Spray some starting fluid into the intake, keep the throttle closed.Does it start?Yes?Then it is a fuel problem. No start? Then it is an ignition problem.Make sure the system that is not working is getting a signal from the computer.(eg, Fuel injectors getting a pulse or coils getting a signal to fire etc)

SOURCE: wont start has fuel and has spark

RC ralston
Your problem is a leak in the cpi pletium most likely the pressure line has a leak
had same problem with mine $45.00 PRESSURE LINE KIT AND $15.00 GASKET FOR PLETIUM and 2 hours labor problem sovled.
You can remove vortec cover and remove air regulator to look inside pletium. I had gas vapor on driver side . that is where fuel lines are. fuel regulator is on passenger side. turn key on and look in hole and see where fuel is spraying. taking pletium off you can again turn key on and make sure where fuel is coming from.

SOURCE: 1994 honda civic 1.5 16v stalling after pressing accelerator from idle

Another place to look is your IAC, or Idle air control valve. It is bolted to the back of the intake manifold, and can be removed and cleaned. It is usually the cause of most Honda Idle problems.

SOURCE: Truck not firing properly front coil pack not firing at all.

if this truck has an o2 sensor i would replace that and also make sure the cat-converter is not plugged, this would give you your powerloss and egr code, next is your coil, this may be caused by the computer or your crank sensor, look at the tone ring that the crank sensor uses and make sure its not missing teeth or broken, also check all your fuses.

Honda Accord 1994 Rough Idle, often miss cylinder 2-3 changed the distributer, the coil, spark plug, spark wire cleaned the egr valve, pcv valve, vaccum I noticed the engine miss the cylinder 2 and 3

Sounds like a dirty Throttle Body and dirty IAC (Idle Air Compensator) valve. Get some good Throttle Body cleaner remove the flexible hose at the Throttle Body spray it and wipe it very very clean an old tooth brush works good for getting in there.

Now remove the IAC from the side of the throttle body, careful with the gasket if you want to reuse it. Spray it down good inside moving the valve back and forth as you do let it soak for a few minutes and clean it again. Blow it out with some compressed air and reinstall it. Put some throttle body/injector cleaner in the fuel tank.

1996 isuzu rodeo keeps reading #2 misfire runs good xcept when cold it hesitates most times or jus occasionally hesitates then the check engine light flashes and its guzzling gas i only got 50 miles on a...

A misfire alarm typically means the coil pack mounted above the sparkplug indicated in the misfire had gone defective.

To test it, swap the coil pack with another cylinder, and see if the misfire goes from #2 to the cylinder you put it on.

If the misfire continues to be on #2, then consider changing the sparkplugs.

I hope this helps.

Misfire under load and check light comes on for a second have taken to Hyundai they said the usual Plugs Leads, Injectors and wanted around $600 to clean Injectors and Throttle body. I replace Plugs and...

Up hills & under a load --could be the EGR Valve
as you have a high vacuum load

The temp goes up on hills & yes the coil packs
could break down. That won't show up in the service
bay the way a dealer tests it.

Not the Throttle Body or Injectors
Sounds good & makes them money
first.
That is what they do,after 3 visits & parting
with your money, then they will work on the misfire
Sad isn't it

Never go to a dealer. Try a local shop

I replaced coil packs pcv valve fuel filter cleaned egr valve and started it up ran fine i put it in gear it died and now wont start at all

may be a bad idle control sensor, you did not post year of vehicle. 1999 and below can be code read at any auto zone or advance auto parts store for free. if it was bad coil pack it would start but misfire bad. you may only need to clean fuel injectors, add lucas fuel injector to clean the injectors up,cost$5.00 do not depend on cleaning a bad egr valve, that does not always work. the best thing to do is have it code read for free at the above mentioned parts stores for free. this gets to the root of your problems at no cost to you. thank you for choosing fixya.com

I changed the plugs, fuel filter, coil pack, and injector...now what?? its still missing and reading cylinder 5 missfire!!!

You either have another bad COP Coil and possibly
#5 wasn't bad either,or other issues

Check for vacuum leaks

If the O2 Sensors have 100,000 miles
change the front 2 only, with OEM,not a
cut and splice thing. NAPA can order them

Disconnect the vacuum hoses to the EGR Valve,
plug and drive a couple of days,to see if it is the issue.

Clean the MAF with CRC MAF Cleaner
Clean Throttle Plate with CRC Throttle Body Cleaner

Check fuel pressure at fitting on fuel rail with a gauge

What codes do you have?
Who is doing the work on your veh?

Check the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator and check to see if the fuel pressure regulator has gone bad. Give the throttle body a good cleaning and the injectors too. Do not use carb cleaner, it's to corrosive for the gaskets used in the throttle body. The other thing too that would cause this is a stuck or bad EGR valve, Try cleaning the EGR valve too since your cleaning the throttle body. Good luck and keep me posted.
