2012 Equinox the ac fan works intermittemtly. Blows ok for days then nothing. What are the likely problems. The ac line is cold so compresdor seems ok.

The A/C line's , the compressor etc. wouldn't have anything to with the blower motor working intermittently . electrical power supply problem . Looking at wiring diagrams to see what all is involved in making the blower motor work would be the first step in diagnosing the problem . Knowing GM vehicle's i would say the blower control module is starting to go bad . GMC Yukon HVAC Blower Motor Won Turn On This is the same on your chevy .

that seems to be the problem. If the fan does not turn on when the a/c is turned on it could be a fuse, relay, control box, or just a bad fan. Try connecting the fan directly to see if it works. Does this car have 2 fans? normally all the small cars have 2 fans one for the engine cooling and one to assist the first when the a/c is turned on. Without the fan pulling air through the a/c condensor the had pressure goes up high enough to shut off the a/c compressor. It also causes some cars to run warmer than usual when stopped. Check the a/c condensor for blockage also which doesn't have anything to do with your fan not working.

This could mean you need a refrigerant recharge, that you have a refrigerant leak, OR that the mixer valve is not working and that you're getting hot air from the heater core instead of the air conditioner.

The refrigerant is probably the quickest and cheapest fix. Take it to a local shop that does air conditioner work and have them test the refrigerant pressure (in psi). They'll be able to tell you if that will fix the problem.

Don't try to DIY and just buy a can of refrigerant as you can potentially over fill the system.

SOURCE: 2002 S type 3.0. The heater not working

Heater control valve faulty,
Air lock/blockage to heater matrix,
control unit voltage sender.
Check the above in this order. I assume you are operating heater control functions correctly and the heater display is showing no unusual infor.?

I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox and my AC only blows cold when the engine RP M's are high. At idle it blow warm. The fans are working and I have a full freon charge. What is going on?
