I will suggest that you give more details in your request for help. Some defects will show up when Environmental conditions affect borderline conditions; for instance if cooler temperatures occur overnight a bad battery can drop voltage or dampness can short out a connection. If the car will start after sitting in the Sun the same number of hours (as overnight) it may dry out the dampness. Some vehicles are affected by rain, others by hot temperatures.

Most of the Ford products have a "cold start sequence". It uses water temperature to set the fuel mixture, idle speed, and timing to help the initial start. Sometimes the water sensor sticks on "warm or hot" and does not trigger the sequence. Low antifreeze levels can create an air pocket where the sensor resides and again the sequence will not trigger.

The above conditions assume the engine will even turn over. Sometimes contaminated fuel will settle and be temperature sensitive with water pooling at the bottom of the tank. If starting fluid makes a difference you could have a fuel problem.

I hope these ideas help you. if they do not, re-post with more description about what your car is doing.

SOURCE: Ford bantam 2008 rocam 1.6 Wont start. Petrol gauge stays on. I think it nhas someting to do with the ignition

Does it have fuel pressure. Have you tested it for fault codes, you do this with a OBD2 code reader, the test connector is under the dash driver side.

SOURCE: I have a Ford bantam 2008 1600 Rocam,in the mornings it does not want to start, there is fuel and spark,if you push it it starts, and if started once it start all the time, what can be the problem?

Could be a low battery voltage causing the cranking speed to be low or a tired starter motor sucking up excessive current and leaving the ignition system too deprived to deliver a strong enough spark.

Certainly you should check the spark plugs and the spark power and quality, the battery voltage and perhaps service the starter motor if it is consuming too much current.

If these things make little or no difference it would then be wise to check the fuel pressure and injector spray patterns.
The positive crankcase ventilation system should be checked - if a valve is fitted that is defective the intake manifold vacuum can be affected at cranking speed.

Sometimes imperfect intake valve seats can affect starting. As combustion begins enough gas leaks past the valve seat to corrupt the next incoming charge, effectively weakening the mixture. Another possibility is the coolant or air temperature sensors.

My 2008 Ford Bantam seems to have strange firing order 1-2-4-3? is this correct. Also the distributor does not have an H.T. lead. Can someone help please?

4 cylinder engines can have both firing orders
the more common one is 1-3-4-2 but some manufacturers have the other firing order
it depends on the manufacture of the position of the crank pin
some reason for it are
less harmonic vibrations
less stress on crank webs
easier manufacturer
for the missing problem run the fault codes and check for ambient temp sensor , maf/vaf sensor or BARO sensor problem
