SOURCE: I have a question. If yor mower want turn over

Hello Lynn,

Sounds like you have a problem on the key controlled side, so:

1. Power from the battery to the key switch? 6V or 12V I would guess.
2. With the key in the "Start" position, have you got voltage to the thin wire/small terminal on the solenoid?
3. Do you have a good ground from the starter motor to the chassis?
If all the above checks out then the control circuit for the starter should all be working A-OK & when you turn the key to the "Start" position you should be getting a good, strong "Click" from the solenoid.

So - on the starter circuit:

1. The HD cable feeding the solenoid should always have battery voltage on it?
2. When you operate the key you should hear the solenoid "Click" and the voltage from the HD feed cable should now be connected to the other HD terminal on the solenoid (these are the two you are shorting out with your screw driver to get the motor to turn the engine over).
3. If the solenoid is "Clicking" when you operate the key & the voltage from the main supply cable is being passed to the second HD terminal, but the motor is not operating, then you need to check your ground cable.

Hopefully by now you will have found & fixed the problem :)

SOURCE: John Deere LT133 not starting

This is a common problem. The saftey interlocks are most likely keeping the tractor from completing the starter circuit. See the attached diagrams for curcuiit.

If off tracter ther park brake set switch must be closed along with thwe PTO off switch closed.

John Deere 320 Skidsteer hydraulic lock up for boom and bucket. Code F9H9.

We don't really deal with heavy machinery here. Either ask over at www.justanswer.com or get yourself a service manual for it. Unfortunately John Deere charge for them, but they are very detailed.

John deere x320 wont start have to turn key 5 or 6 times

Start with the battery.
Have it tested.
Then, look at the terminals and wires.
Corrosion can cause this.
Next, go to the starter and the starter solenoid.
The solenoid or the starter will be most likely your problem,
God bless your efforts.

I have a 2008 John Deere Z425 zero turn that i bought used last year. Hydraulic Drive belt is squealing when starting from stop or going up slight grades and doesn't pull good.

v belts -- and am assuming that is what you have -- have to in position just proud of the edge of the pulley to work well
if the back of the belt is below the edge of the pulley it is worn or the pulleys are worn
the belts come in different cross sections and a smaller belt in section in a wider pulley will run on the bottom of the pulley and will slip and squeal just like you describe
belts come in "V" section , "A" section and "B" sections

Just purchased a toro zero turn mower at garage sale. Ran very well first couple weeks. I was running it the other day, shut it down, jumped back on 10 mins later, mower does not start.

You'll need to check all the safety switches. Probably one in the seat, one for the mower engaged, one for clutch/parking brake engaged, possibly one for reverse gear selected, and possibly for position of the steering arms.

JOHN DEERE LT150 WILL NOT START. STARTER MAKES NO NOISE

check the battery first. if the battery is ok sit on seat and turn key, you should hear the solenoid clicking. if not using a testlight check fuses under bonnett,if all ok check that you have power at both starter solenoid heavy wires and one small wire while turning the key.it is advisable to get someone to sit on seat while doing these checks for your safety. There is a start inhibit switch under the seat to prevent engine starting when nobody is siting on seat
