Question about 2000 Ford Windstar
The "reversing lamps" as Ford calls them are located at the bottom of the rear light assemblies - not in the lift gate. When your Windstar is shifted into reverse, output from the PCM is applied to the rear electronics module (REM) to ground the lamps and turn them on. In short, if you need + 12 volts to turn on the camera, you will have to find it elsewhere. This is a common problem encountered when trying to install cameras in older cars.

SOURCE: rear window on 1986 ford bronco
I had the same problem with mine and I drilled out the rivets holding the motor in. Have someone hold the window up when you do this so it don't fall. after you get it drilled and you can let it down you should be able to remove the window from the track through the panel. It has been a while since i had done it but the window motor was very reasonable.... make sure you are getting power to the motor before going through all of this because you might be able to put power to it and make it roll down.

This means that your key is not being recogonized.Ethier the chip in the key is bad or the patts transciever at the lock cylinder. Do you have a spare key? If not you will have to get 2 new keyss cut and programmed.

SOURCE: lift gate wont open
OK, this minor collision may have shifted the actual clip and latch assembly. You may have to totally disassemble the latch assembly to release this lift gate.
Any kind of major or minor shifting of the lift gate lock latch assembly can cause misalignment that will jam this delicate precise locking mechanism.
