If it is definitely coming from the power steering pump then you will have to change the pump. common problems associated with the pump is a whining or hard to steer once in awhile. still will need a pump change

SOURCE: 1997 Nissan Quest knock sensor and transmission

A knock sensor going is usually indicated by pinging/rattling noise from engine especially when accelerating up a hill or just giving throttle but not kicking down a gear. Not sure what your asking about transmission?

SOURCE: 2004 nissan quest power steering leak

Determine where the leak is coming from. Is it the rack, a hose, a connection, the pump? Most common would be a hose connection. Under normal circumstances, the hoses would not yet be cracked on an '04. The rack also has posed some problems with this vehicle, especially if it has been frequently operated on dirt roads, or dusty, grimey conditions. If the problem is with the rack, you can get a rebuilt rack to install, yours is rebuildable, but if you are not versed in this, it may be better to leave the rebuilding to the experts...but first order of business, find the leak, then we can better deal with the problem.

Why is my steering making a sound when I turn it?

Where is the sound coming from? Under the hood like a squeeling noise? Does it do it all the time or only when at a stop? Does it do it when turning in either direction? It may be low on power steering fluid or it may be the power steering pump itself.

Maxima got a knocking noise by the power steering pump just replace the rod bearings and still knocks down by the power steering pum

You replaced the rod bearings, were they knocking?
Also, you have wrist pins that connect the piston to the rod, if one is bad it will knock and sound like a bearing.

I hear noise when I start my 2005 nissan quest for 3 seconds and then it goes away. I only hear the noise when i start the van and the van has been parked for hours. or when it is cold.

you may have a loose belt that is squeeling when you start the vehicle..
or it could be the power steering pump....
I would need more info to diagnose this issue...

Does the timing chain and anything to with oil

Yes and no. If the oil pump is going bad the Connecting rods will knock. The Timing chain could be making the sound if the Chain guide came free. My guess is you have a 7 - 70 warranty and they are trying to get out of rebuilding your engine.

2001 nissan quest alternator voltage

If the car is running and hasnt died or had any hard starts you probably just have a belt tensioner or pulley problem. You can read the charging voltage off the battery with a multimeter and should see a a change from ~12 volts to about 13-14 volts.
