SOURCE: Check Engine light

that code definition is "Evap high purge flow fault". It means you may have a problem with the evaporative system. this system routes fuel fumes back to the fuel tank. If you want to try and clear this code, find the radio code for your car and then disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. Reconnect the battery and the check engine light should be out. You will then need the radio code to reset your car stereo. the check engine light may stay off if the condition was a transient one. If not, the light will come back on after you drive the car two drive cycles. That is: two starts, warm ups and shut downs. If the light returns, have a mechanic check it out.

SOURCE: car is jerking engine light is flashing and smell gas

With modern cars it is bad when the engine light just comes on and the vehicle does something very different. It should not be driven. If the car is smelling of fuel and jerking it is because it's miss-firing (i.e. one or more cylinder is not getting spark but is getting fuel). This can be anything from electrical/electronic to mechanical like a broken rotor cap (as an example). The good thing, is that the light is coming on and a mechanic can check the ECU for error codes. Alternatively, you can buy or barrow one your self and check it out on your own (I think even certain auto-part stores will check it for you as long as you get in the zone;). 1996 is a good year for that since that is when OBDII started and all vehicles started using the same port to check for issues.

SOURCE: Engine light came on. The dealership said it was diagnostic code P0420 and that it would cost @ $1,200.00 to repair. This seem pretty high. What is this diagnostic code about and is the repair rate

Hi, this code represents a Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1). and the repair, considering that it will be repaired by the dealership, seems to be in the normal cost range. The labor is what usually inflates the price when dealing with catalytic replacements.

You could probably get a better deal by taking it to a non dealership type of repair shop. This may cut at least 200 dollars of the original dealership quote.

Please rate and god bless:)

There is no P4156 but, there is P1456....it is this:

P1456 EVAP System Leak Detected (Fuel Tank)

You either have a cracked hose or an air leak to or on the fuel tank.

SOURCE: diagnostic code po411

The P0410 code refers to the emissions system.
The AIR pump puts air to the exhaust to lower emissions. It takes in outside air and pumps it through two one-way check valves into each bank of the exhaust.
About 90% of the time that this code is set, the one-way check valves have worn out or failed and allow water (which occurs naturally in the exhaust) back into the pump. In any cold climate, especially in climates with higher humidity, this water may be more excessive. The water partially fills the AIR pump, it can then freeze. When the PCM commands the pump on, if the pump is frozen it cannot turn, thus overloading the circuit and "popping" the fuse.

In here you can find the Trouble Codes List:
The CODE mean P0411 Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow Detected

Good luck!!!

1999 Nissan sentra wont accelerate/

Those are not valid codes, recheck them. Please check the fuel pressure under a load like accelerating, also check for excessive exhaust flow back pressure due to a plugged catalytic converter.. Also try unplugging the MAF sensor, if it is defective the engine will run better (almost normal with slight hesitation) but the check engine light will come on.

2010 sentra transmission fluid pressure sensor location

First off do not listen to Autozone, they are very quick to spend your money, they are screen readers not trained automotive technicians. No fault code with few exceptions tells you exactly what is wrong, it can be the sensor, the wiring to it or the control module (computer) that has the problem. The pressure sensor is inside the transmission a really dirty big job to access, so have a TRAINED technician look into this before any parts are replaced.

2009 nissian cube service engine soon light what could it be engine runs ok

Take your car to Advanced Auto Parts or Auto Zone, or anywhere you can connect your car to a diagnostic computer for free. After receiving the code that code reader can also clear the code. The only code that won't clear are the really serious ones such as a failed transmission.

Yellow engine light beside oil light is on after starting car up and stays on. what is this light? the car is a nissian wingroad 2002

this light alerts you to the fact that a fault has occured in the electrronic controls of the engine or the emission control system, when the light is turned on a fault code is stored in the memory of the control unit known as the PCM, have the system tested to find out what that code is and what system has failed, u may feel no difference in the way the car feels. Autozone and Kragen auto do this test for free.

1995 Nissan Sentra - I've had the "brake" light on for years (only when engine is running). I replaced the back cylinder brakes and the "brake" light is off but the "malfunction light" is on.

you can try and reset your comp, take hot side battery cable loose, hold for 7 seconds, put back on and check, the switch on brake pedal could be bad, also check the fluid, if you had new brake cyc put on make sure they are not leaking, also on older nissian, the emergency brake will sorta fall down, making the light come on, get somebody pull brake, and emergency brake up and hold check and see if light is still on
