Sounds like VATS (vehicle anti theft system). There is probably an open wire from ignition switch that reads the resistor in the ign. key. Either replace ignition switch lock or bypass the vats reader with resistance of the same value as key. There should be a thin wire running out bottom of column and plugged in near bottom of column it usually has 2 yellow wires. You can place the resistance across the two plug in contacts to by pass .

SOURCE: will start then dies

On the regals they have a ceramic resistor on the passanger side under the fender. It heats up and over time it tends to brake and the wire inside tends to rust away. The fuel pumps run in 2 different speeds. Had the same problem. Dealer only part yet the car would run and you would think it was the fuel pump. Turn the key it kicks on then start and dies out. Ceramic on the pass side would need replaced. It is white about 2-3 inches long or so held on with 2 bolts i do believe. Ill find a bulliten i found online to help me diagnos the problem. :) hopefully this helps someone out instead of spendin $$$ that ya cant afford with the recession eh?

SOURCE: Buick Regal dying

You have a problem in the fuel pump relay circuit for sure then. I'm betting the relay, but it could be that dropping resistor.

94 mitsubishi 3000gt will not turnover

Most starter solenoids are on the starter. There are 2 to 3 wires going to the starter, the big one from the battery is for the starter motor it's self. The smaller one is from the ign switch to the sol. That's the one I'm guessing your having problems with. When you turn the key do you get a "click" sound or just nothing? If there is a click then your getting power from the key. And the heavy gauge wire is not delivering power to the motor. Check at battery or if they use a terminal block

Put a test light on the starter ignition terminal,on the starter,if the test light lights up as soon as you turn the key to the start position, and the starter delays starting, check the voltage at the same spot, with a volt meter. If the voltage is lees than 12 volts, and then jumps to the 12 volts, after the delay, then replace the ignition switch. If the voltage is at 12 volts when the key is turned to start the car,and the delay occurs, replace the starter.
