I have a 2002 crv mk1 and am trying to obtain a parcel shelf/load cover. The only ones I can find anywhere are for the mk2 (same year) does anyone know please whether or not they will fit the mk1?

Hi, try makeing shore the parcel shelf is properly seated in place and try again,hope this fixes it for you, all the best.

there are two latches in the boot that must be closed. You unlatch them to lift the parcel shelf.

the parcel shelf in the back has to be all the way down. There are two switches it sits on, that have to be activated before the top will go down.

the panel wasn't properly positioned so the roof would not open

are they fitted in the rear doors or the parcel shelf ,if there aree no visable screws to un do if door fitted then will have to remove the door panel , if on parcel shelf same thing if no screws visable then remove from underneath , hope this is of some help

there is a spring arrangement that connects too each hinge it will be under the rear window parcel shelf ,may have a covering ie carpet this is what keeps the lid up so must have come unhooked/broken

The parcel shelf is that flat area behind you head of the rear seat. Normally has speakers or junk on it. On hatch back cars it lifts up as you open the hatch.

What cover do you mean? If its the one on top of the engine,you need to remove the oil filler cap.

Why do you need to remove the parcel shelf and the seats just to tint the window?
If you are using film tint lay it on the outside of the window cut it a little larger than you need it. Clean the inside rear window then use a squirt bottle with soapy water in it spray the window roll out you tint using a squeegee to remove air pockets. Finally trim the edge with a razor blade window tinted.

It's a lot of work for just cleaning.
Fold the rear seat down and remove the two 12mm bolts on the bottom corners of the seat back, pull the seat out.
Between the seat bottom and the carpet you will find two tabs you need to pull and then pull the seat bottom up and out of the car.
Remove the two 10mm bolts securing the seat bolsters to the area the seat bottom was covering. Pull the seat bolsters up and out of the car.
Pop the "C" pillar trim off of the car (above the parcel shelf and beside the rear glass) (side airbag vehicles have a slightly different procedure.)
Pull up on the parcel shelf carefully and evenly. Remove clean and put everything back together.
