Hello windy....There are a few thing on the murano that could cause this... one is the exhaust gussets that go to the bottom of the oil pan to the exhaust, they can crack and cause a rattling noise. Also I have seen the rear exhaust heat shield spot welds come loose and cause a rattling noise, from exhaust manifold down pipe on the cat. converter. I would check them first, also the park brake cable will lose tension and rattle on the undercarriage.
A more serious problem would be the timing chain and/or chain tensioners...these are known to make noise around 50-60k. The tensioners are operated from oil pressure, the face gets worn, the chain stretches and it results in a rattle or a slapping noise
Useing a full synthetic oil with regular maintaince will help prevent premature wear.
Good luck, i hope this helps..please rate me a fixya.

04 nissan altima rattling noise

that would be the engine front , you sure it's a Rattle ? if so ? it will be your Camshaft bearing noise, is it a 2.5 L 4 cylinders ?or 3.5 L V 6 !! .
if it's 2.5 L , your Camshaft bearings are starving for oil , so I suggest you check them both intake and exhaust cams and see also if the valve lifters or cam bearings are in bad shape , worn out ? check also both cams journals and drive journals to lifters ( contact operation ) if there is a suspicious gaps between them that also can cause a rattle sound .

Noise from engine

Check your belt. Belts will whine when they're worn, cracked or glazed. I hope this was helpful. It's not normal. Take care and God bless.

Maintenance needed comes up on the display for engine oil. It was changed 1500 miles ago and that is what the maintenance display shows

i found this on a Murano forum, so i cannot validate whether or not it works.
-To reset the maintenance notice on the display, turn the ignition key to ON, with engine off. Select the "Maintenance Schedule" key by using the button to right or left. Using the button select the "Reset" key and push the "Enter" button.-

Hope this helps,

2005 nissan murano sl, with rattling sound when accelerating

I recently experienced the same symptom with my '05 Murano and it was not a fuel problem. The dealer listed the cause as dry axle splines and replaced both front drive shaft assy's. Note that this was done as warranty with no cost incurred by me.

"Metal" rattle on 04 Tahoe

It sounds like one or both of your heat shields have come loose. If you look right where the exhaust bolts to the engine blocks on either side of the motor there should be a shiny (in comparison to the exhaust) piece of metal that has come loose.
