How to replace the sliding cover on the console on a 2008 buick encalve

You have to remove the seat from the car, turn it over, and cut/remove all hog-rings holding the cover to the seat and pull the cover and cushion off. Set the new cushion in the cover, place it back on the seat frame, and hog-ring it back in place at the same points the original hog-rings were. Put the seat back in the car.

Remove the bottom cover. Reach up and turn the socket, pull it out. replace the bulb. reassemble.

If your vehicle has

the dual power sliding doors, both doors will have

to be reset. To reset a door, do the following:

1. Check to be sure the power sliding door is

unlocked and securely closed.

2. Turn the ignition to LOCK.

3. If the power sliding door overhead console

switch is in the override (deactivation)

position, return to the activation position.

4. Open the sliding door using the remote

keyless entry transmitter, overhead console

switch, or passenger switch. Allow the door to

travel fully open.

If the door does not travel to the fully open

position, press the overhead console switch to the

override (deactivation) position and slide the

door fully open and closed. Check for foreign

objects in the tracks. Repeat the procedure starting

with Step 1. If the door resists travel to the fully
open position, see your retailer for service.

Right hand drive model isn't so easy ! 2008 model :-
remove centre panel behind radio (unclips) remove glove box lid and panel and then inner glovebox (unscrews and unclips) carefully unplug five wiring multiplugs from glove box etc.
undo and lower down fuse box,unclip all wiring multiplugs from top of fusebox,remove fusebox bracket from bulkhead (2 x 13mm nuts) push fusebox down out of the way.
pull carpet away from side of centre console and remove two small (7mm head) black self tapping bolts from cabin/pollen filter cover and slide out filter.
Reverse process to rebuild !

driver side of the shift console slide the driver seat back you will see an oval cover pry it out with a small screw driver look inside you will see a black electrical fitting with two blue wires use a long needle nose pliers to gently turn and lower the light fixture(black electrical fitting with two blue wires) pull out of the oval opening change the bulb and reverse the operation no console removal needed..

Fuse # 26 marked LTR-CIG ........its all in the owners manual.

REMOVE ENGINE COVER DISCONNECT MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR CONNECTOR.LOOSEN AIRDUCT FLOW TUBE SCREWS THEN REMOVE AIR FILTER COVER HOUSING BOLTS THEN RAISE AIR FILTER COVER UP SLIGHTLY ENOUGH SLIDE IT AWAY FROM AIRFLOW DUCT.THEN REMOVE COVER REPLACE AIR FILTER THEN PUT EVERYTHING BACK UP VISA VERSA DONT FORGET TO TIGHTEN SCREWS TO AIRFLOW DUCT TUBE ONCE AIR FILTER HOUSING BACK IN PLACE.

Open up the sunglasses holder and there might be a screw holding it in place there. There is also another screw underneath the main body, just unsnap the cover plate to access it.

The entire console slide back away from the windshield about 1/2" once the screws are removed, then drops away.
