SOURCE: seems transmission gear shift problem
Pull the distick and smell the oil. If it's discoloured (black or dark brown) you know the transmission friction plates are burnt and needs a rebuilt.
Cheers
SOURCE: the transmission wont shift out of 2nd gear again.
i can answer part of your question. the front wheel speed sensors are for abs and trac control only. these will not affect the speedo your problem is some where else. sorry i have not had this prob yet good luck. you could have to replace the rear wheel speed sensor again. they are not that good. and after market are even worse.
SOURCE: automatic 3 speed transmission wont shift out of first gear
that is what they consider safe mode for those transmissions, they are a very smart electronic transmission it does that so you dont ruin the trans.
It has detected a problem and you must take it to a tech and have the codes pulled, could be as simple as a sensor or solenoid pack
SOURCE: transmission automatically shifts to low at idle
after my 2003 chrysler concorde is warm I slow down from the hwy and right before I stop my car shifts to LOW gear and stays there until I turn my car off and start it.

Call around find a shop that will give you a free estimate on it, have them scan it. Don't think the interment panel will show up on there scan, but it also won't make your car run bad if your interment panel is not working. I would guess you have a bad ECM, or some fuse or relay that is bad. Mechanics are like doctors never trust the first diagnoses until you have heard it from another two doctors. Unless of coarse they are you long used trusted mechanic.
