SOURCE: 2003 Jetta TDI alternator light came on in dash

Your voltage regulator supplies the path for the control lead of the alternator and varies the amount of current available to provide the magnetic field of the armature with the required strength. Measuring from this lead to ground won't show much voltage.
Apparently the regulator is not integrated into the alternator and is probably failed. If you can chase the control lead backward, you will find the regulator and these are mostly mounted on the fender well or firewall.

SOURCE: no power in fuse box for fuel pump

If there is no power to the fuse block then there has to be a main relay check that to see if it is blown. it is usualy located in the fuse block undr the hood.

1999 dodge ram v8 1500 my dog snagged my 02 sensor wires now the truck wont start no fire can any of those wires cause a crank but not start and fuel but no fire? Help

The electrical power for the O2 sensors heaters comes from the automatic shutdown relay (ASD). The ASD also provides power (not control) for the coil and for the injectors. The coil and injectors are controlled by the PCM.

So if the wires for the O2 sensor heater was damaged and shorted, it may have blown the fuse(s) for the ASD, and thus you would have no power to the coil or injectors. The wire for the O2 sensor heater would be colored orange with a dark green tracer. Make sure this wire is not grounded.

The fuses to check in the power distribution center under the hood are fuse 2, a 20A fuse, and fuse 11, a 30A fuse.

2007 Dodge Nitro R/T with no brake lights... all three are out.. I have replaced the stop switch correctly.. no fix

Have you had a test-lamp/circuit-tester on the brake light feed wires, to make sure you're actually getting a electrical feed.?
1: If not, it needs to be tracked back to find out where the fault it.
When you replaced the brake switch, did you check that you had a live feed to that switch.? If not, it might just be the fuse.
If there is power, have you checked across the switch to confirm it's working OK. (New doesn't always mean working properly)
After that, it's a broken connecting wire, somewhere in the system
2: If there is power, have you checked the grounding lead to the lights. There's a good chance that all 3 lights earth back through the same grounding connector on the internal bodywork.
I don't know where that will be, but IF all 3 are grounded there, it's a very good chance the cable is broken or the connector is really badly corroded. Best of luck.

the ASD can drop out for 8 reasons,, scanning the PCM finds that easy. if you dont scan it ,i bet you never find why it drops.

1997 ford f150 4.2 ltr no power to spark plugs no power to fuel pump

I would check to make sure there is power to the ASD relay in the engine compartment fuse box. That relay controls the fuel pump relay and the ignition relay. It could also be that there is a corroded wire to that same ASD relay inside the fuse box. Make sure you check the wire harness also for corroded wires. I have fixed many F150s that have had these same problems.

I have a 95 Mitsubishi eclipse that will not start. There is no power to coil or fuel pump. I have replaced asd relay and fuel pump relay also the camshaft sensor. What could be the cause? Help please.

A broken or corroded wire in the ASD relay socket, a blown fuse, a loose bulkhead connector, or even a faulty ignition switch- not the key portion, but the electrical portion where the wiring harness attaches to the steering column. Using a test light, a buzzer or a volt meter you can see if the switch is getting power- and also see which terminals are getting power when the ignition switch is moved.

I have a 2004 Chrysler pacifica that would not start. We've had the battery tested and changed the starter. We've checked that there is power getting to the starter as well as the solenoid. We've also...

I have a 2007 chrysler Pacifica and it had the same problem. It would crank over but not start. Took some time to figure out but in the end the asd control wire that runs from the fuse box to the PCM was corroded in half about 5 inches from the fuse box. It would show 9 volts at the PCM but no continuity.
