Mercedes e350 2009 current mileage 81K, check engine light is in yellow. The service due in 25 days. Could it be set up at previous service that some engine service is recommended at 80K miles?

Otherwise car is running great. Always has been serviced at Mercedes dealerships

The service will be due at a certain mileage OR a certain date, whichever comes FIRST.
So if the service book says it should have an 80,000 mile service, that has come first, before the calendar schedule.
It's a yellow warning light, which is a 'first-stage' light. A red light is a problem, a yellow one is just a reminder/warning.!
It's safe to drive it, but get it in for it's service as soon as you can as its now over the scheduled service period.
Best of luck.

Most likely a gas cap or emissions issue, if you are sure the car is running fine. But you will have to have it scanned to know for sure.

SOURCE: I have a 2005 Nissan pathfinder

I just had the same issue with the same mileage as yours. Mine is the sending/sensing unit and it causes the range, distance to empty, etc. to be incorrect. The dealer is replacing for just under...$500. Another problem has been a whining sound under the hood, which they diagnosed as worn timing chain guides...cost to replace the guides is about $1,400. Not replacing results in the chain running on metal and chain wear, not to mention that whine. The service advisor said these two issues are the most common problems with Pathfinders. Good luck with your problems.

SOURCE: My 2002 VW Jetta failed smog due to MIL/Check

if this vehicle is driven in the city almost exclusively, take it out on the freeway a good 30-40 miles prior to taking it back to the smog shop. that should prime all the readiness sensors. make sure your doing some speed and not just going 55 in the slow lane. get the system nice and hot.

I have a 2004 that did not pass the state of Illinois emission test.
The code came back 0711. The check engine light comes on
occassionally but will go out and won't come back on for weeks at a time. Does anyone have a clue?

I just bought a 1998 mercedes clk320 and the battery was dead. I was told it ran great. it will not start turns over great but no gas in the line .

You have a puzzle. Mercedes has many unique features and issues.
Can't help much since this is online and you haven't heard it run. Do a car fax and see if any reports on specific issues have been reported.
The codes mentioned do exist, but you will need to call a dealership or mercedes mechanic shop.

Mercedes sprinter 2007 315 cdi dropped big end bearings this is the second engine to do this

All engines will have a main bearing failure. They often have a blockage that prevents oil from cooling it down properly. Only a regular engine teardown can prevent this.

I have my extended Mercedes Benz Warranty coming up in the next month. It is a 2005 SL 65. Can you advise what items I should have the dealership check for possible problems so I can get it fixed under...

You need a full PMS( Preventive Maintenance Service ).
Just tell the service advisor to do that PMS( checking all underchasis, steering, electrical, brakes, fluids, transmission, bolt & nuts retightening ), change oil, and check all filters.
That's all they should do for a warranty check up.

Hope Fixya helps you out!

Please, my mercedes benz E320 CDI is showing check engine light, what should i do?

Get out your manual and familiarize yourself with the menu system. You can access the computer system and go in and do a reset while sitting in the drivers seat... but it is always better to understand WHY you have a warning. Your best bet is to take it to an authorized Mercedes dealership and have them look at the fault.

My odometer reading shows a wrench with a -1200. I know it needs service but I am not sure where I need to take it for service or what service is needed.

what kind of service is needed is dependent on the mileage of the car as there are 2 types of services done A and B Scope services but the best advice is to find a mercedes approved garage or mercedes dealership but remember it is probabely going to be costly so find 2 or 3 different garages and shop for the better price

On a 2006 ML350, is it necessary to get the transmission service (new filter) after 48K miles??

yes Mercedes changed the transmission service interval to 40k miles but then after that you don't have to service the transmission until you reach 140k miles. It is a good idea to the transmission serviced at this mileage especially for warranty purposes. There was a lot of issues with the new 722.9 transmission when it first came out. Which is one of the reasons Mercedes moved up the transmission service from 100k miles to 40k miles for the first time it needs to be serviced anyways. Plus if the transmission happens to need repairing the first thing the dealership will look for is to see if the trans service had been done at 40k miles before doing any kind of warranty work on the vehicle. As a former Mercedes Benz Tech at the dealership I would say yes it is necessary to get the trans serviced.

92 Mercedes Benz 400 Class Overheating - steam comes from right side near windshield. Was told a hose need's replacing, which hose should be replaced?

This is the location of the coolant resevoir. It is not uncommon for the cap seal to leak after time and allow for pressure to push coolant out. If it has not been changed in the last 3 years, get one prior to any other repairs. Do not allow this to climb over 90 celcius. It will do damage to the heads. Inspect any hoses around the resevoir area. It may also have a cracked resevoir. It is not uncommon. There is a place in Southern California called SilverStar Porsche/Mercedes recycling (866)307-7300. Great prices and service. Will ship. I have used them several times and they have always done great. Let me know if you need anything else.
