If you're finding it difficult to service/repair your car, get one of those online manuals. You'll not have to wait for others to answer, or rely on mechanics and all. Plus i know a website
that has very good manuals online, without expiry i.e. for lifetime. www.reliable-store.com

When you say it's destroying the air filter---do you mean it's all sooted up ?? I am assuming that what you mean.
Try disconnecting the vacuum line at the egr valve and see if that helps.
But it sounds more like a plugged up exhaust system.Try disconnecting or looosing the flange before the cataylic convertor and then see how it runs.

What engine code is stored in the computer? You may have a bad TPS (throttle postioning sensor), or a bad O2 sensor. Auto Zone can retrieve the code for you, and tell you what sensor it is related to.

Have you checked the primary gauze filter that is part of the fuel pump located in the fuel tank. You may have got a batch of dirty fuel that has clogged this filter which would cause fuel starvation when demand increases.

My ford galaxy's choke sticks revving at 2000rpm

I am guessing the year, but there should be a choke dash pot on the side of the carb that has failed, or the choke cap is not working properly.

When i crank my car my engine idles high what causes this problem?

Sounds as if it is just your choke. As long as the vehicle idles down after warming up you are fine . But if it continues to idle high you will need to have the idle adjusted or your choke is bad/

Truck losing power and service engine soon light on

Like to other guy said, give it a tuneup. Also try SEAFOAM to clean carb up of slug. Also check to make sure the butter fly for the choke has not come loose, causing it the choke it down. Failed choke pull-off.

Will not drop down from fast idle when first started

It sounds like an automatic choke system. Let it warm up for 5 minutes and then give it gas up to 2000rpm and release.

1995 Isuzu Rodeo starting problem.

Hello first thing i would start with is check your idle screw it may be set to low if the choke linkage is sticking .first take your breather off so you can see the choke linkage look to see where the plate is positioned is it fully closed have somone try starting with out touching the gas pedal if it doesnt start slightly open the choke plate if it starts you need a choke adjustment check to see if its manuel linkage, vacuum operated,or electrical. if vacuum check lines for dry cracks or splits preventing choke operation if electrical you need to test the power wire at the choke also test for good ground if mechanical check adjustment screw for curb idle to see if its set to low.goodluck please rate
