Heater motor relay location on 2003 dodge durango

the resistor is behind your glove box. open the box and push in the sides to release it and let it hang down...the resistor is right there. I didn't try to replace it, a friend did it, but the part was under $20.

It's a big job. Drain the coolant down, recover the freon in the ac system and disconnect the lines and heater hoses. Lower the steering column, remove the instrument panel assembly, remove the heater housing. Split the case halves on the housing and there you are. Usually around 500 to 700 dollars at a dealership.

The front and rear are two different systems-if the rear works or doesn't -your front still should. Your problem is the blower motor resistor and yes you can do this yourself. Remove the glovebox door and the resistor will be fastened to the heater/ac box with 2 screws and a harness plugged into it. It is a dealer only part, but they are under $30. Hope this helps you. Since your blower is working and it is a heat issue,thats where we'll start,First thing is have you checked the coolant level in the radiator when engine is cold,make sure it is filled to top,next verify you have coolant in reserve ,Start your van and get it up to normal operation temperature,If your heat gauge on the dash works correctly it should be 190 degrees,Now lift the hood and locate the two heater hoses going into the heater assembly at the fire wall,Both hoses should be hot to hold on to,if both are hot and no heat inside your problem will be the blend air door in heater assembly.
if neither hose is that hot you need to replace the thermostat in the engine to get it up to 195 degrees.
if one hose is hot and one is luke warm then the heater core is blocked and to blame. hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Heater Fan Only Works On High

The fan motor pulled to much current causing the resister to blow and the harness/wire to melt. So for safety reasons I just replaced it all.

Blow motor resistor harness- Part is 05017124AA
Resistor- Part is 05174618AA
