Honda dealer said mouse nest made of insulation from hood heat cover, was in fan and burned up motor. IS it possible for a mouse to get inside the heater motor circular fan?

Heater worked great prior to changing Cab Filter today. Said nest material must have dropped down into fan.

SOURCE: Heater fan only works on high speed 4.

sounds like the switch is bad. Test the power coming in to the connector and use jumpers to get the fan to operate at all 4 speeds. if it works then it the switch.

SOURCE: Heater won't heat in cab

if the inlet and outlet hoses are getting hot to the heater core then the problem is the air temperture control blend door actuator in the heating/A/C ducts, this door directs air flow either across the heater core or the AC evaporator or mixes the 2 air flows for a desired temp at the outlets, hence the name blend door, to change this part u must remove the dash assembly.

SOURCE: 1985 honda prelude heater blower fan/fuse? problem

yes there is a fuse
what kind of nest? did something chew through a wire?
could be under dash or the fuse box under the hood if you still have it check the owners manual in the glove box dont jump steps and just replace the fan could be fruitless

SOURCE: 1997 F150 heater problem

your problem is caused by the air temperature control blend door actuator motor being defective, the little motor moves the door that gives either hot air or cold air or a blend of the 2.

SOURCE: 89 Honda Accord Heater doesn't blow air at all

sounds like the blower motor, Get a test light and hook it up to the wires going to the motor this will tell you if power is getting to the motor . Hopfully it is , Just pull the panel off on the pasangers side under the dash and you can see the motor . It's easy to change and should fix the problem. If you get no power it check for power at the switch on the dash . It could have gone bad !!

I have no air coming out any vents, heat or air conditioning.

Something may be blocking the blower inlet. Open the hood and clean out any trash on the vent intake screen at the bottom of the windshield. If there is a lot of it, some of the finer stuff may have gotten inside the duct and loaded up the blower inlet. If the inlet has a flexible hose, it may have been crushed by somebody's big feet kicking up under the dashboard (although most newer cars have covers on this area). It's also possible that you have a pest nest in there.

One other possibility is a broken or slipping blower wheel - the motor turns and makes noise, but the blower isn't actually turning.

Burning smell inside car. Not under hood. What could it be?

I had the same problem with my 2005 Honda Accord. I would happen only sometime but is a distant odor I smell from inside the cabin. Older Hondas sometimes have gasket problems that leak small amounts of oil onto the exhaust manifold. Ask the mechanic to go check the valve cover gaskets. They replaced a new gasket to my car at the Honda dealer and I haven't smelled that burning odor since then. Good luck.

Fan works but does not blow hard. Used to blow great, now it seems there is an obstruction or internal vent not operating properly.

I know this may sound nuts but you should check these things first, pull fan motor and look in the squirrel cage, i have cleaned out several gm and dodge blowers full of nesting material like insulation and acorns.....yes acorns...rodents love to fill the fans up as nests...yes they can get in where you cannot tell. next look at the connectors at the blower motor and where the wiring connects to the resistor pack, usually located on the ac case under the hood or near the blower housing. check the connections to se if they are burnt or melted. the resistor pack could be bad also. hope this helps....

2004 Toyota Tundra - mice got into the fan assembly and the motor

I have seen that most of the time rodents will build a nest right in the middle of the fan on the blower motor. Remove the blower motor and clean the blower fan and clean out the air duct from the blower motor while it is out of the vehicle.

Heating

Remove your blower motor and check to see that its circulating without restraint. It could have warped over time and lost its symetry causing it to strain the fan blades and or motor. Sometimes moisture can enter and cause other problems associated with the blower motor and or parts.Corrosion, debris buildup, poor electrical contacts etc....

No heat

check your coolant level.
If it is fine.. you may have a mouse house built in the fan... the nest blocks the fan blades and causes the fan motor to become unballanced and over worked...
remove the fan/blower motor assembly and clean it out. That should fix ya.

Heater fan is SLOW....

check to be sure that nothing has made a nest in your blower motor.. I have found mouse nests, rats nests, and even dead snakes inside the blower motor on these trucks..with all the extra weight inside the blower, the low speeds turn slow and will burn the resistor out quicker.
